Marlisa - Hopelessly Devoted To You Lyrics

Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
I'm not the first to know
There's just no getting over you

You know, I'm just a fool who's willing
To sit around and wait for you
But baby, can't you see?
There's nothing else for me to do
I'm hopelessly devoted to you

But now there's no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm outta my head, hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you

My head is saying, "Fool, forget him"
My heart is saying, "Don't let go"
Hold on to the end, that's what I intend to do
I'm hopelessly devoted to you

But now there's no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm outta my head, hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you

But now there's no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm outta my head, hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you

  3. J.... M....

She's good but i don't feel the emotion on the song.

  13. F.... ....

Im not feeling it. Im nt sure shes been in love shes still so pubescent

  14. j.... r....

hope you will be successfull as olivia newton john . awesome

  15. 1.... f....

She should play Sandy in grease

  16. J.... ....

There is no denying that Olivia's rendition of this is spectacular with its honesty which is why I think this song has lasted beyond the film but I thought Marliza did a nice job with it. It's a hard song with A LOT expectation and crazy notes...

  17. B.... A....

Marliza is a Filipino. This performance right here embodies how good and talented Filipino people are...The best Asian singers and artists ever next to British, Irish, Australian, and American artists, but Filipino artists like this young girl, can be world-class, too...:)

  18. o.... g....

    😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏

  19. G.... W....

    Nice. . :')

  20. K.... ....

    Trying hard muchacha

  21. A.... ....

She makes a slow song sound so unbearable.

  22. P.... P....

the best part about marlisa's performances are Ronan's reaction. he just looks like a very proud parent❤

  23. E.... E....

    SHES AMAZING OMG 😍😍🤗😮😮

  24. S.... R....

THE LAST NOTE WAS AMAZING THOUGH. Natalie bassingthwaite is a dumb talentless whore. Dannii is shit As. She is a shadow of her sister kylie

  25. S.... R....

SHE FUKT UP AT 1:13. SUNG WITH WRONG NOTE. It fukt up the performance. Re- do it pls.

she didnt even smile a bit, she is cold i didnt like her. but i am in love with her dress.

    L.... S....

Lithium Sapphire It's not really a happy song.

  30. R.... P....

    So nice.so smooth.awesome

  31. J.... V....

she wasn't feeling this song. I'm kinda sad she didn't match the passion the song needs

    J.... V....

For a 14 year old it's difficult to feel emotions she never had in a relation. Time will come, emotions will come, love will come to her and disappointment will come, too - and her voice and her emotions will grow, I hope. After all - I love her singing

    J.... V....

    you're right

    J.... V....

Chicken Noodle Soup I agree. I think the judges gave her too much praise for the song. shes 14, but it's not an excuse, she should have been able to use the song and meaning to compare it to her own life. Her version was bleh , which is unfortunate.

  32. j.... L....

    truely remarkable!

  33. M.... m....

    Wow or woof.

  34. S.... ....

LO CANTA MUY MAL. ESO DA PENA.

  35. B.... D....

She's a good singer..Just needs to put more heart and soul into it.

    B.... D....

    you nailed it!

    B.... D....

    well agree

  36. J.... D....

mezmerizing... its like a breath of fresh air... i love the tone of her voice.. very rich very clear... fits like a gloves

  37. J.... D....

mezmerizing... its like a breath of fresh air... i love the tone of her voice.. very rich very clear... fits like a gloves

  38. W.... S....

amazing. love here.... she is realy good... :)

  39. S.... P....

SHE DIDN'T EXECUTE CORRECTLY THE MELISMAS....

  40. S.... P....

WITH NO OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN MELISMAS', NO GAIN....

  41. S.... S....

    beautiful song beautiful voice

  42. L.... G....

    she has a lovely voice

  43. C.... C....

I wish I could hit those notes so flawlessly

  44. F.... B....

    Marlisa is AWESOME

  45. G.... ....

She has a beautiful voice, BUT , There was no feeling. They said she never saw the movie. I think if she had seen the movie she could have felt the pain the song comes from, then she would have really killed it.

    G.... ....

Yes, but you must agree that it is pretty good for a person who has little clue on the song and movie. Even if I watched the movie many times, I can't pull this off.

    G.... ....

    its a poppin' performance dude!

  46. D.... W....

Outstanding! I don't think she was trying to sing exactly like Olivia, but put her own signature on the song. Pitch perfect.

  47. C.... H....

Wow..she sounded AMAZING!! I wanted to cry...😢😢 Wow...What an incredible voice for 14 years old! She sung this exactly like Olivia Newton...Wow! Did she win??

    C.... H....

+Courtney Harmon yes yes yes! :D

    C.... H....

Yayee, Awesome! Im soo happy she won!!! :) :)

  48. K.... C....

Without a doubt she is technically solid and hit every note, but I didn't get the goose bumps.  She's probably too young to understand the meaning of the song.  Upon hearing the first phrase I sensed she was more singing from the head than from the heart.  But with that beautiful voice she's got a bright future.

  49. S.... B....

it is beautiful, but I didn't get the woooow feeling like the original version. but still, beautiful :)

  50. M.... O....

    Sounds so accurate

  51. J.... 7....

She's great, beautiful voice! I'm hopelessly devoted to you.

  52. e.... k....

thx Marliza , for presented my favourite song .....very lovely performance u did

  53. P.... P....

    Vas te coucher !!

    P.... P....

    Oui alors !

  54. e.... l....

    very nice ,a refreshing version..

  55. M.... ....

    Holy shit

  56. K.... S....

Didn't quite hit Olivia's version......Just didn't seem to have the heart and soul of the original. Nice, but not remarkable....

    K.... S....

So you know, spelt is the past tense of spell commonly used in English American teachings.
You need to learn more about your own language. It's like saying tho is not though.

    K.... S....

She's not quite acting there and not trying to be the character Sandy, even though it would've helped.

  57. m.... s....

A great song....sung with finesse by this rising artist!

God Bless You.

  60. S.... L....

This should be considered a crime.....she can't sing this song. Its horrible and there is not one ounce of true feeling in her singing. Its robotic and dull.

    S.... L....

Sammi Leigh can you sing like that? I bet you cant

  61. r.... a....

Bsta proud ako sa knya kc naipkita nia sa buong Mundo talent nia eh...kau wla.

Jaeim Polanco you think you can do better?  Prove it or St@up

  65. P.... C....

ONJ was born in England and her father was a Welshman. She moved to Australia when she was little. She is not an Australian.

  66. j.... h....

Yes in the Philippines she maybe "ordinary" as some of you have said  but God did she nail this song! I absolutely think she is adorable and has a great talent

  67. B.... I....

Marlisa's voice is very ordenary if you compare to some other filipino singers, boses nya di mananalo sa pilipinas, lucky you that the contest was in australia.

  68. L.... ....

I love this song!!! I also love Marlisa's voice!
It feels like Rihanna singing Hopelessly Devoted to You. So relaxing!
Keep it up and stay humble and positive as you are!

  69. j.... ....

Seriously people you've got to understand that x-factor is a TV show with a primary interest in ratings, sponsors, and selling music to the masses.  It is not designed to find the best talent. The truly gifted singer/artist, if they are even mainstream enough to get on the show, is guaranteed, pretty much, not to win.  The singer, Marlisa, is a case in point.  She is a cute 15 year old girl who they can dress up to look like an adult. And that is exactly the way she sounds, period.

  70. D.... V....

Every song she sang, she did it like it's hers! No matter what type or generation, Marlisa nails it! She gives me goosebumps every time I hear this song!

  71. K.... Q....

am i the only one who think this girls range is like forward and reverse and thats it….. she never hits high notes and if she does her voice barely changes to me its all sounds like the same tone over and over the same voice made me feel like she doesn't know any other notes, i know she has the young age and pop factor but come on….. i did not see this season but there is no way she would beat megan on vocals………whoever says she can is clearly deft.

    K.... Q....

LOL, wether the song is hard or not i did not based my opinion on just 1 song most of her songs are the same thats why i said what i said there is no different vocal ranges if she has some they are so close to one another that makes it hard to distinguish. keep opinions to myself you said, isn't hat why they added the comment section to youtube? ins't that what your doing right now? ...... -_________- what you just said about me not being able to hear or distinguish a tone without even knowing me, makes it an opinion so right back at you, if you don't like to read someone's personal opinion then do not read the comment section or post your own opinion about me telling me mine is wrong because you disagree with it so apply your own advice and keep it to yourself.

    K.... Q....

its her distinct voice.her normal singing voice that is. its her own tone. that makes her unique.

    K.... Q....

+Svetlana Kosovskia your just a racist

    K.... Q....

Really??? my fiance is Burmese for your information ...I am not racist, she was way to young/ inexperience to make it, RD vocals where impressive, but these shows now a days are not about talent but popularity, she has charisma Il give her that but her vocals need a lot of work she just another teen money making catchy songs pop star, like we need anymore of those, real talented singers don't get recognition in these shows anymore.

  72. B.... R....

    1000 puntos!!!!

  73. B.... P....

    This doll can sing!

  74. M.... C....

Whatta voice....??? Such a quality singing voice. So simple girl yet extra ordinary voice...

  75. i.... l....

Broadway directors be shaking their head.

  76. C.... A....

    the golden voice...

  77. W.... ....

    she sucks

  78. j.... l....

i wandered why marlisa skipped the 2nd stanza of the original version of olivia and revised some tune towards the end of the song, nevertheless both rendered the piece excellently

  79. B.... E....

I love your voice two thumbs up... Nice rendition of the song

  80. E.... C....

    A lovely voice. Well done.

  81. H.... ....

Being an O.N.J. fan for so very many years - I wondered what young Marlisa, might make of it ~ well it is very different, but its a very nice song still and very well sung. Well done.

  82. M.... V....

    She sang it Beautifully! SUPERB!!!!!!

  83. M.... L....

    She nailed it!!!

  84. b.... m....

    She looked really beautiful here.

  85. J.... C....

This song is supposed to be sang softly.  She is forcing it too much.

    J.... C....

style bro.and its natural for her!

    J.... C....

+John Doe please show us that law that says it should be sang softly. did you really think that if she sang exactly like olivia newton-john that would wow the judges?

    J.... C....

nop...this song must be sang from of the bottom of gour heart....and everything else come easy...

    J.... C....

    J. C. She's 14 years old, and that kind of emotion and subtly probably just isn't there yet. Didn't think the music was that great either to be honest. Couldn't tell if they had a band. She did her thing and sang it well.

  86. P.... y....

    bagus ... lan apik tenan
my idola di musik ..cantik ..manis

  87. k.... ....

This girl looks so stuck up a little smile here and there won't hurt, rare to see her smile.

  88. A.... C....

Oh my! honestly i tried to listen how Olivia Newton John sang that song and honestly felt how she struggled with this song. I can honestly say that the best person who have ever sung this song is Marlisa, and this happened many years after the song was composed. Not to disrespect Olivia but this song is really beautiful and the full beauty of this song was expressed by Marlisa in this performance, never mind the paucity of action since this is not a dance song but a ballade song and Marlisa sang her heart out not in the actions but the perfect tune, emphasis matched with her naturally good timbre of her voice. I wish this Filipina girl more success! Congrats Marlisa!

    A.... C....

Hardly Olivia is the only person who can do this song Justice theres so much emotion behind the way she sings it.

    A.... C....

@Adam Canton but she has no emotion. And her voice isn't even meant for this song. The character, who sings this song, is elegant, soft, and sad. Marlisa has a bit of a squeaky voice, which clearly isn't Sandy.

    A.... C....

@Adam Canton She is no Sandy.

    A.... C....

@Henrietta Panlilio Sorry, but you are deaf X 2

    A.... C....

Adam Canton You have got to be kidding me with all of that. I thought she did a great job singing it, especially for someone so young, and probably just learned the song. Funny how people say 'not to disrespect someone' then go right into the disrespecting. Wasn't necessary IMO.

  89. r.... a....

    @ 1:22 so perfect...!
