Marley, Ziggy - Lyin' In Bed Lyrics

Praise god I say, praise god each day
He helped me to overcome
I remember once I couldn't get out of bed
So I sing and say... yeah

Lying in bed got nothin' to do
No one to rub my head
Playing my guitar my only friend
It's gonna last me till the end
Don't wanna land it
Wanna get out instead
I wanna feel free with activity

Above my bed bob face us all
Looking at me so passionately
Well in his eyes I saw the truth
The truth of a rastaman
The truth of a higher man

To the bridge
Don't wanna land it
Wanna get out instead
I wanna feel free with activity
Well I got lots and lots of company yeah
Alot of good vibes flowing around me
Nurses coming and wondering, o god
Is this really Ziggy Marley

Lying in bed got nothin' to do
No one to rub my head
Strumming my guitar my only friend
It's gonna last me till the end

Above my bed bob face us all, my daddy
Looking at me so passionately, lil brother
Well in his eyes I saw the truth, my name
The truth of a rastaman
The truth of a higherman

Rastafari no, I n I give praises
I n I thank Jah for, his health
If it was not for him
What would I, what would I've done
So I say amen

Don't wanna land it
Wanna get out instead
I wanna feel free with activity
Don't wanna land it
Wanna get out instead
I wanna feel free with activity
Don't wanna land it
Wanna get out instead
I wanna feel free with activity

The first Ziggy's song I listened was Tomorrow people...1989...I was 14...After 30 years I listened again on radio that song and now I am crazy of all Ziggy's songs...He helped me with his music to overcome the pain of my soul when my mother died 2 years ago.
I followed Ziggy's concerts EVERYWHERE...And I was on the top of HAPPINESS when last summer I met him in Verona and I had a photo with him❤Forever in my heart Ziggy Cedella Sharon Marley and Erica Newell (Melody Makers)

It was released 7 years after his death.

ziggy was bob favorite son. Rita said in her book that Bob was so happy when ziggy was born that he told all his friends about it.

    n.... ....

I'm not sure Ziggy was his favorite son. The way I understood it was he was so happy because Ziggy was his first son. From interviews Bob loved all of his children equally.

its about a vision ziggy had of his father. he couldn't move, literally, bob's spirit held him there and told him that he must follow the truth in life and music was a key to Jah Kingdom. There are many interviews from him on this. it happened when he was really young.

hu lin Hi, something are above our being ,my father, died on December 11,2011.It's so hard to say goodbye to such a great dad and friend.I liked spending good times with him and he always would let me and my siblings know he loved and cared for us.He was a man of conviction and grace. He was in South East Asia during the Vietnam war and was in the Air Force,he served his country with goodness and prideful joy.So my point is to have love and he can always be here in spirit. Thanks for the conversation and share.Much love for the Marley and your family as well. Thanks Jordan Hill

I been looking for this song for about 20 years now. Last week I even went to ziggy's web and put in an email to ziggy asking him for the name of the song. I never knew the name of the song, but I know all the words to the song. I was searching for the song under the title Don't want to lie in bed. Thanks so much for putting this track up. In my life I had a similar expression of depression, but it was my mother's spirit that saved me. Her face I saw. And I praise and thank Ja every day.
