Mark Lanegan - Sunrise Lyrics
Sunrise
Forgot to cover up my eyes
Sunrise
Should've covered up my eyes
Beauty wasted on me
With a woman too good, to believe
Take the first ride out that I see
Sunrise
Skies are servin' my plan
Grounds are movin' where I stand
Pull an airplane down
With my hand
And take the first flight out that I can
Forgot to cover up my eyes
Beauty wasted on me
Winds are movin' my trees
With a woman too good, to believe
Take the first ride out that I see
Sunrise

Mark Lanegan Sunrise Comments
Of all of the male vocalists of the Seattle bands that emerged in the late '80s/early 2000s, Lanegan had (and still has) the best voice -- but the least-appreciated.
It's only gotten better with age.
No others words or music has ever touched me so deeply. Thanks for helping me get through this life Mark.....

this could easily have been a Tom Waits song, circa 1975 - 76. Nighthawks at the diner, Closing Time, the Heart of Saturday Night era. can you hear it? oh I can. by the way, that's one of the biggest compliments I can give this excellent excellent soulful song
Beauty wasted on me.
Man, I can relate. Mark is my favorite artist ever.
Best use of a saxophone since Baker Street
Such a groovy song.
1 O sing unto the LORD a new song;
for he hath done marvelous things:
his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
2 The LORD hath made known his salvation:
his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
Winds are shakin my tree... with a Woman Too Good to believe!!!! Classic!!!
