Had my interview for a first 'proper' job in Silvertown in 1989, 30 years ago. Lots of derelict buildings, some regeneration from the dockloads era, but mostly dated. I remember it like the back of my hand. I'm sure it's changed massively now, but, approaching 50 years old, I want to go back to that cloudy day in 1989! BTW, I got the job! It shaped the rest of my career. Don't ever write off an area just because it's going through a hard time.
