This song is VERY similar with Magnolia of JJ Cale.

So I went & looked it up & you're right, it is very much like this song.
Never heard this one before but I love both of these artists.

This sounds like a beautiful movie soundtrack from the 1960s. Could have a more dramatic sound for John Wayne or Hoss Cartwright. MK music transcends time near bout.

This song, and "Seattle" from the album Privateer, if one were guessing, could have been written by Jimmie Webb. A great crooner could make a hit out of either of these songs.

Bar a couple of details between the two
But the progression is nearly the same

The syncronised tapping is suppossed to emulate the passing of time or the ticking of the clock,or the fact that time waits for no one and ultimately time heals all wounds,,,just an interpretation...

Some may compare him to other guitarists, not fare for them... I prefer compare him to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson... genius... so much more beyond his incredible guitar...

@ivolimbo I wouldn't say that. The Idols of today are rather being famous and having an expensive handbag. I'd say drugs are are just a side-effect and war videogames are, to me, just games. You don't really think you're killing people, it's just about the skill. Still, Mark's a genius, there's no way about that!

i am not a big fan of BD but he was one of America's best poets, a voice when this country really needed to hear the truth.

He's coming to Montreal in April and I've got my ticket. I can't wait. Mark Knopfler kicks ass!

To evaluate how briliant is this guy, you just have to notice that his youtube vids are only great rated, and nobody argues commenting them, because only intelligent people can listen to such a well done music.
