I was fortunate enough to hear this album around the time of it's release and also see them play these songs live during their early shows pre AntiChrist Superstar..... those shows were unlike anything else i've ever experienced and I've literally have been to hundreds of Concerts....... it was like a gathering.......a revolution being born......and i was witnessing it and a part of it.
I don't know if Manson realizes how important this album was. Not only was the music amazing, creative and had this darkness to it that wasn't in some campy like way. . . but it really spoke to the listeners and even those who would take up arms against him. This album changed music period. It was also an album that was intelligent, political and truth in it's most rawest form. of course due to that truth, it scared a lot of people who wasn't ready to look at those truths eye to eye......so they did what the World does anytime something speaks the truth, is unique and doesn't take on the look of the "norm". . . . They cried "Burn the Witch" and and tried to crucify him and turn the finger that was rightfully pointed at them towards Manson....... Insert a new age Satanic Panic Witch Hunt.....which even after all these years these religious fanatics and cardboard cut out Politicians don't understand only helped him grow stronger because Kids are smart and know that when these people try to supress and silence an individual and their art.....it means something important exists within it.........and so the 3rd Anti-Christ was born.......
