Marianne Faithfull - Monday Monday Lyrics

Monday, Monday
So good to me
Monday morning
It was all I hoped it would be

Oh Monday morning
Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening
You would still be here with me

Monday, Monday
Can't trust the day
Monday, Monday
Sometimes it just turns out that way

On Monday morning
You gave me no warning
Of what was to be
On Monday, Monday
How could you leave
And not take me?

Every other day
Every other day
Every other day
Of the week is fine, yeah

But whenever Monday comes
But whenever Monday comes
You can find me crying
All of the time

Monday, Monday
So good to me
Monday morning
It was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning
Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening
You would still be here with me

Every other day
Every other day
Every other day
Of the week is fine, yeah

But whenever Monday comes
But whenever Monday comes
You can find me crying
All of the time

Monday, Monday
Can't trust the day
Monday, Monday
Don't go away

Oh, Monday, Monday
Don't go away
Oh, Monday, Monday

  1. E.... P....

She is so beautiful and magnificent.

  2. J.... C....

    She's amazingly beautiful..my god

Nice cover. No doubt she knows how to sing. Everything she adopts she turns it into her voice register and does, as with "Scarborough Fair" an spiritual, even a better song. Hope she does a whole covers record which include this one and the "Scarborough" cover too. We, her followers, deserve it, think. Could also be a good sample of her music evolution, with "Ruby Tuesday there, how not. Great songs for the new generations to know, through her, as well. Apart and besides this ability, she had a beautiful voice, then. It surprises the intuitive senses Andrew Oldham or Loog Oldham had, to discover a natural talent at first sight. He should have kept on, instead of retiring thinking he was already wealthy enough. Mariane's life would have been another one, had he not met her. Of course, maybe somebody else, would have "discover" the Stones as the excellent composers and songwriters they are. Or they had went trough music history just as singers of other's songs. Who knows? Andrew Oldham fulfilled his role, be it only with Mariane Faithful and the Stones cases. 🙄❤️😉👌

  6. J.... J....

I love your version of this song! The Mamas and Papas did a great job and so have you. Your voice is soothing, like singing a lullabye to our little ones to sooth them and calm them! You have that affect on adults too!

  7. A.... M....

we are all beautiful when young....me, you , my ...........all......

  8. C.... C....

Alain Delong French pretty boy, Not much of a actor

  17. j.... c....

    j' adorai cette chanson

  18. c.... ....

    The LA sound of 1965.

  19. C.... J....

    Que de bons souvenirs !!

  20. .... ....

    a sweet melody....

  21. C.... B....

    2:50,  Spot the dog?
She liked to get her kit off did Marianne,  she was partial to a Mars Bar too so I heard.

What an awful rendition, this skank could never sing.

  22. F.... ....

Marianne Evelyn Faithfull, the Baroness Sacher-Masoch through her German mother.  And now she is much older and her voice has deepened and taken on an edge and become more German, I think, and reminds me somewhat of the voice of Marlene Dietrich.

    F.... ....

+FirstUsedBooks I guess no one believes me.

    F.... ....

    +FirstUsedBooks I definitely agree!

    F.... ....

her early voice & expression are quite similar to Janis Joplin's early (Brand new pair of roller skates...).

    F.... ....

FirstUsedBooks I agree! I prefer her older voice. Sexy AF. 🔥

    F.... ....

Sehr schön. Such a beautiful voice! Came here almost by accident and glad I found this.

  23. j.... ....

    good one

  24. D.... G....

Was this Mamas & Papas cover on an album Marianne had out during the 1960s? Her voice is nice but the 18th century European masquerade ball music fused with an element of 1960s psychedelic makes it sound hauntingly good.

  25. D.... G....

Wow is this good. This is what should be played on 1960s stations not the same Stone Age Motown music.

This is eerie, haunting and fantasy-like. Seems like music Roman Polansky would have used in a 1960s cult film. Other than Marianne and Grace Slick there are not too many female icons from the 1960s left. They need some deserved acknowledgement by getting their music aired on radio.

    D.... G....

    @Davin Dx They certainly do.

    D.... G....

Davin Gladwell i totally agree with you!

    D.... G....

This is great ,motown is crap in my opinoion

    D.... G....

    agree it is

  26. J.... ....

A Marianne Faithfull é sem dúvida a musa dos anos 60 e como cantava e como ainda canta muito atualmente! Graças a Deus podemos ver e ouvir uma cantora deste naipe nos dias atuais!

  27. D.... G....

This is the main reason I pay for internet to find gems like this I never heard before or hear too infrequently. A little gem here. Sound like 1960s version of  pared-down 18th century classical music with a  psychedelic element added. Cannot believe this music is almost 1/2 century old now.

    D.... G....

Si entendre était mon unique sens ,J'en Profiterai jusqu'à ce que je devienne Sourd.. :)

    D.... G....

@Davin Damper  At 67 I lived through the 1960s, this was the best decade ever, we had it all ,and those of us still alive still do,reckon mine is the first generation to not envy the young. Marianne is in my opinion is one of the best.

  28. C.... D....

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. M.... B....

uuuuuuuuuuuu como me gusta esta mina, que canto tan sensual, realmente los que hablan mal no tienen en cuenta que por algo se fijó Mick en ella

    M.... B....

    Ah Ouiiiii..!?!

  30. l.... s....

    I PREFER HER VOICE NOW

  31. t.... ....

    Amen! This is awful.

  32. n.... ....

    She sings this song beautifully!

  33. M.... B....

    M.Faithfull-STILL-pines-Rolling-Stones-Mick-Jagger-sexually-humiliated-40-years-ago.
And He & Rolling Stones should pay her !

  34. M.... B....

Ruined by loving Jagger: Broke, alone and performing in seedy stage shows, at 66 Marianne Faithfull STILL pines for the Stone who sexually humiliated her 40 years ago

Former model and pop star blames infamous drugs bust in 1967 for split and subsequent downfall
'Marianne got a raw deal - what was being said about her wasn't true ' says detective who was there
'I could've stayed with Mick - but I couldn't bear that world' says Faithfull
