Marcy Playground - Death Of A Cheerleader Lyrics
She was so pretty, everyone said
The more so the pity
That she was found dead
And now the flag only flies at fifty percent
In the school yard where she once went
Way back, way back
B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E
And the death of a cheerleader
Take me by surprise
How the death of a cheerleader
Can open eyes
Yellow carnations and roses galore
Were sent to the mother and
And in the spot where her daughter had
Taken her life
Was a sweet sixteen photo
On homecoming night
Push 'em back, push 'em back
Way back, way back
B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E
And the death of a cheerleader
Takes me by surprise
How the death of a cheerleader
Can open eyes
And it's sad that she had to die
To open eyes
Nobody doubted her future was vast
Nobody noticed she grew up so fast
It's a shame that her future's a thing of the past
Tomorrow's the funeral you know
L-E-T-S-G-O

Marcy Playground Death Of A Cheerleader Comments
Ha-ha, isn't it funny how everyone cares when a cheerleader commits suicide, but when my cousin killed himself no one gave a fuck because he wasn't popular. No one from his school even pretended to care.
im srry about your cousin and its about a true story about an unpopular girl who looked up to the chearleader but killed the chearleader
so if a popular kid kills himself it's not worth as much because he's popular? It mentalities like that, that stop me from seeking help. Everyone will bring up oh you have friends, oh you are athletic and strong as fuck, you are always smiling and laughing and full of energy, how can you be depressed? Just because I don't fit the stereotype of a depressed kid.
+Patty Mcguffie it is sad. if you were to die your family and friends would miss you but nobody else. but everyone loves a Cheerleader
Kristen Costas has no grounds to be a bitch on because she looked exactly like me when I was 15 and I'm ugly as fuck. Kristen Costas was a fugly bitch and that's all she will ever be.
+Jessie Fox its sad for the both of them for one even if victim was a bully! doesnt mean she should have died. hell if she would known that would cost her life i bet she would have been more like a professional young lady. also sad for the murder she did not feel perfect enough she made it to believe to her she was suposed to be like the victim. i agree with u that the victim wasn't right sweet but i dont agree on calling her ugly was necessary. and what i learned with the book my teacher read us was more different than what had showed us in the movie was beyond different. so my point is no ones not gonna know the truth but those two.
Wait there's a book about it?
+Jessie Fox no i said my teacher read me a book and had us watch a book not about the death of a chearleader. my point was the story probably is not the same in the movie. i found a pic of both of the real girls and the girl who killed looks more like a chearleader more than kirsten did
+Marie Byrnes and if u look it up theres probably a book
Mrs. Lah 2007 yes they were friends. Look for the documentary thah ID Discovery did its called 80"s the deadliest decade:death of a cheerleader and they tell the real history
This is why God says it is not our right to judge others. Because He is the only one who knows whats wrong with them, their lives, what is tormenting them. we don't know what is making them who they are or making them do what they do
Such a sad story, the point is how american young girls grow up with so many pressure!!i wonder how bernadette is living her life now!
such an epic brian may vibe solo
Paddy Mcguffie stfu go get a fucken life and grow up. Ill be laughing when you die. So exit out this video. Wait I take that back about laughing at you because I'm not sick minded like you. Go get help mental bitch.
"And it's sad that she had to die... to open eyes"
Well, he was somewhat correct. When one of those who are deemed "not normal" kill themselves, a lot of people care less than they would about the death of a more popular person, such as a cheerleader. It's not the way I think, but I'm in high school, and I can attest that it's the way many popular people think.
Who are you to compare the amount of tragedy and/or loss that comes along with someone's death to that of another?
Suicide is a terrible thing and I am personally ashamed of you.
If I hear that someone's committed suicide, my first thought is not, "lol herpdederp they probz lisstednded to rock screemo lol."
It's probably more along the lines of,
"Oh god, that poor person, their poor family, what a tragedy..."
No one. Cares. About. What. Music. They liked. It. Doesn't. Matter.
Just saying.
Guys, it doesn't matter whether you are a cheerleader or a goth or some crazy awesome mix between the two stereotypes. You are beautiful and your life is precious. Someone somewhere will miss you, stay with us. Every single one of you is important. Stay strong everyone <3
sorry to say this but
everyone cares wen a chearleader dies but when a emo, goth or mosher dies no one cares and just puts it down to music they listen to
load of shit i have listened to rock scearmo for years and i am still here
Marcy playground is by far one of my all Time favorites. They're so sick
this band is incredible.
