Marcus King Band, The - The Man You Didn't Know Lyrics

When I'm gone don't write love songs
Don't cry teardrops
All the things you didn't do
Don't do them when I'm through

Cause I won't feel my heartache
Gone without my mourning
Let me go, you've done it once before
You can remember me as the man you didn't know

When I'm gone console my family
Show your face at my ceremony
Leave my rest and I'll alone be

But don't kid yourself my darlin'
One dark sun shining morning
I'll be gone you'll be the first to know
You can remember me as the man you didn't know

When I'm gone don't cry teardrops
Don't write love songs
All the things you didn't do
Don't do them when I'm through

Cause I won't feel my heartache
Gone without my mourning
Let me go, you've done it once before
You can remember me as the man you didn't know
You can remember me as the man you didn't know
You can remember me as the man you didn't know

The more I listen to Marcus play on the acoustic guitar and sing my appreciation for his talent grows. I love when he plays with his band but these solo sessions are becoming my favorite.

Totally agree. I love how he doesn't call himself an acoustic player. I get what he's saying, but it doesn't matter. His picking attack and voice make him such an incredible acoustic musician.

  2. Gino Rossellini

    He's an old soul
