Marcus King Band, The - Autumn Rains Lyrics

There's Autumn rains down by the river
Singing sweet songs that wash my pain away
There's Autumn rains up on the mountain
I don't seek shelter 'cause I've always loved the rain

There's Autumn rains down by the river
Singing sweet songs that wash my pain away
There's Autumn rains up on the mountain
I don't seek shelter 'cause I've always loved the rain

She said nobody's ever written a song about me
'Cause they don't see the beauty in the rains that I see
Amber ale, sweet bud and sunshine
Like to listen to the river flow cross my mind

There's Autumn rains down by the river
Singing sweet songs that wash my pain away
There's Autumn rains up on the mountain
I don't seek shelter 'cause I've always loved the rain

I ain't seen you 'round in a month or two you've been hiding
I can't fight these feelings for you I'm fighting
I'm the first to sing this song to you, but the only man that's going to
All the places that you'll see, you won't stop to think of me
And I'll listen to the river flow cross my mind
And I'll listen to the river flow while it kills my time

  1. Bernard Allan

This is as good a southern rock song as ever written. Maybe better. Has a very South Carolina feel. Toy Caldwell would be proud of this young man.

    Absolutely! I agree!

    Mitchell Miller

Definitely! When I first heard this song I thought to myself "Wow, that one sounds a lot like the Marshall Tucker Band". Especially the guitar outro...

  2. Ann Hancock

I am a fan of everything I have ever listened to by MKB but this is my favorite so far. Just paints the perfect picture. Puts right there and the melancholy pain in the guitar solo is palpable.

    Steve Oz

Me as well.. This man is fantastic

This is so reminiscent of early Amos Lee.

    Incredible

  6. Stone Creek Cinema

Man, he played this at the show I was at. Delmar Hall, St. Louis, Missouri. September 19th, 2018. He and his band played a mega 2 hour show full of nonstop jamming, gave it their all, and still came out to greet us and sign our stuff. Very humble people, they didn't even talk about music, just casual everyday things. I got my guitar signed, no strings on it, but I'll always keep that as a reminder of that night. Hell, maybe one day, I'll be opening for him.
