Mansun - Wide Open Space Lyrics
I'm in a wide open space, I'm standing
I'm all alone and staring in to space
It's always quiet through my ceiling
The roof comes in and crashes in a daze
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
I'm on the top of a hill, I'm lonely
There's someone here to shout to miles away
I could be back at my house, for I care
They do not hear me, it's the same old case

Mansun Wide Open Space Comments
The former band members to this day remain very reluctant to discuss what happened during the unfinished fourth album. Draper reveals little and Dominic Chad hasn't much to say either. Something went very wrong that was festering in the early 2000s among them. This group had an elevation of status like Manic Street Preachers, The Verve, etc. Although that era was ending for the 1990s Britpop groups around the time of the breakup anyway, Mansun's fall certainly raises eyebrows more than the others which didn't survive.

2020, just put my ass back on a train back to these days....
Good music in the 90s. God what happen ? The shit today they call music.
Weird..the first notes sound similar to "what's on your mind" by madrugada.
Listen with headphones. You will thank me later
Damn..feeling so nostalgic.
Love this song so much!
Happiest day of my life in July 2007 , listened to this 35 times on the way home from Stowmarket after the best round of competition golf I ever played. 28 years preceding, and 13 years after and still going, but that day was the best
I miss the 90s, setting my up tape player and waiting for certain songs to come on the radio.
His voice reminds me a bit of that of Ronald Orzabal of Tears for Fears, not qua sound but more volume and range.
who's here because of gran turismo
Brits alternative at their best in the 90s
has this been sped up? don't sound right
No. I would never edit this song.
Where is the good alternative músic?? I miss 90s song alternative in 2019-2020
I really miss 90s
such a fucking great song
The quirky off key start is genius! It perfectly sets the tone for a mind trip back to the nineties 🙏
What an album - in the top ten of all time for me. Genuis
My music teacher got me into this song! He left and he was my favourite teacher ngl I miss him (Mr Bennett ☺️)

There are 112 people with no taste for good songs, I think this is really good!
Great song
I'm 14 years old, my dad played me 'six' in the car near the beginning of this year, when the 21st anniversary edition was released. I absolutely loved their music and immediately fell in love with the album, it was what I was missing my whole life. Later on I listened to 'Attack of the Grey Lantern' and I loved that too. I just wish more people knew about this perfect band and I've been trying my best to get as many people as I can to start listening to their music, Mansun was truely an amazing band.
The days i tried to live
Different band.
Hi „Nick Kamen“
Big Faith No More vibes
UNDERRATED
3:06 the 'la la la la la lahhh' in the background always reminds me of the narrator building up to the Krabby Patty in SpongeBob
Ha! This comment is too accurate.
Will never grow tired of this song.
The song transports me right back to the 90s and I'm there again. Its just like a time machine.
Happy 50th birthday today to one of THE great drummers, Andie Rathbone!!

ONE FAB SÔNG!!!!!👌
I've been searching for this song for nearly 12 years (since 2007).
My mind wouldn't let me sleep because of that guitar melody. Over time, I lost hope of ever finding it
I just found it today, after skipping many songs on Spotify. As soon as I heard the first few seconds, I knew. And I lost it. I got emotional 😂
I know, it's just a song, but it's a song I've been searching for over a decade. It's like finding "the one who got away" and getting another chance. 💖
I hear that song almost every day and i like it more and more
So this has almost 4k likes and their channel has only 400 subscribers!? It’s a fucked up world we live in!
There’s so much crap on Shitisland for 42 years now.
I think I only heard this song a handful of times back then but for some reason I remember it with a lot of detail ... :O
Sound so good.
My dog walking song, outstanding track and album 💜
First time listening to this. I like.

I'm in a wide open space, I'm standing
I'm all alone and staring in to space
It's always quiet through my ceiling
The roof comes in and crashes in a daze
[Chorus]
I'm in a wide open space, it's freezing
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
I'm on the top of a hill, I'm lonely
There's someone here to shout to miles away
I could be back at my house, for I care

Love this song. I would love to see a girl do an acoustic cover of it or something
"You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me" every edgy teen ever
Remember this song at a time I felt so vulnerable, still speaks now 22 years on.
Genius video.
Describes of being stuck in impossible situation...
I hope the guys from the band read these. We LOVE this song so much. AMAZING song.
Even after all these years, this is the ONE song I come and look for.

almost every day!!!! it gets in my head and then i have to listen to it like twice lol
2020 n still :)
I listened to very heavy music at this time. Like Marilyn Manson. A huge variety but this song always hit me the hardest. It's one of the most beautiful haunting songs I've ever heard. If there's anybody who cares when I die I hope they play this at my funeral if I have one. I don't even know if I'll know anybody when I die. What is strange comment to make. But it just fits
This song 🖤
My favourite british band...Love & Respect!!!
