This song was the basis of my very first AD&D 2E character, a Drow Elf Fighter Mage who rode two different intelligent talking steeds (first was Blackwind - black horse with white mane and tail; then Blackwind's son, Anor - carnivorous black horse with blue and purple mane and tail and heavy claws instead of hooves), and he preferred using fire spells over any other combat magic. His name was Phyren Telcore. I miss playing him. XD

Though it was my favorite band for many years, by the time I first saw them live, all the magic around then disappeared. I realized that Manowar is actually a sect and acts like any sect. First of all, they make you break your relationship with the rest of the world ("death to the false ones", etc.). Second step, they give you the feeling that you belong to something important, that you're one of the chosen ones ("brothers and sisters of metal"). The third and last step is giving you an identity (notice their salute by grabbing your right wrist with your left hand, the nazis also had their own salute). Listening to them is ok, they sound great, but it's bad to take them seriously.

This video is criminally underviewed....
