Always wear a helmet. This makes me wonder if he had been wearing a helmet if things would have been different. We will never know but can only think about his mom and push the message for safety first.

I am very happy they were willing to use his gift to save people, but I know why know why more people do not donate. Hospitals who harvest get a very impressive payout for those organs etc.. so the more they can harvest for the body the more they make and it is not just payment for doing the work to harvest. As far as I know the family gets no money from these gifts given from their now passed on family member. Not even anything to lay their loved one to rest in style. There has also been many stories over the past 30 years where hospitals has let a patient die just so they could harvest because they were donors. Sadly, those are facts and it has happened and still does just rarely do they ever catch it. So, in general people do not want to die when they could be saved. Being a non-donor insures in most cases they will do everything to save you because they can't harvest you.

I have witnessed so many traumatic brain injuries that could have been avoided with the appropriate protective gear. Don’t get on a bike unless you are wearing a helmet.

Laws regarding organ donation in this country need to change. Organ donation should be presumed unless there is a specific objection, in which case you opt out. Believe me, people with very strong objections would be sure to make this known ahead of time. There are so many people who simply run out of time languishing on an organ transplant list.

I am a donor too. And I am latina not even citizen but my driving license show I am a donor and may someone who hate Latinos can have my organs if I dye. I just hope unless not Trump : ) But if I need someone's organs probably I will never have it, since I can not even have health insurance Because me legal status, but I still want others use parts of my body if I dye and my body can save people.
