Manilow, Barry - Heaven Lyrics

There's a new place called heaven honey
Under a neon sign
When I get you to heaven honey
I'm gonna make you mine

Everybody has soul in there
We'll be rocking and rolling
Heaven isn't very far
So why don't we jump in the car

And let me take you to heaven, heaven
Let me take you to heaven, heaven
And when I take you to heaven wait and see
We're gonna think we're in heaven you and me

Wait 'til you see the stars in heaven
Dancing the night away
You're gonna be my lovin' angel
Up until the brink of day

It's like having a vault in there
And when you're ready for lovin'
My place isn't very far
So why don't we jump in the car

And let me take you to heaven, heaven
Let me take you to heaven, heaven
And when I take you to heaven wait and see
We're gonna think we're in heaven you and me

This song was on the "Here Comes The Night" album from 1982....in Britain, it was the "I Wanna Do It With You" album, but both albums have the same songs on it, including this gem

+UnexpectedDiscovery I wish I did....actually, my mother used to have this on 8-track, which had the song on it....more recently, my wife found a bunch of Manilow albums online which I was able to download and now have on my I-pod (legally, of course)....not sure of the website, but if you go to www.manilow.com , you may be able to find what you are looking for

+Paul Carpenter Thank you for your reply. It seems that the song was a bonus track only on 8-track and cassette. I appreciate your info and the link very much!

"Heaven" wasn't on my "Here Comes the Night" vinyl album, of course I had the US version. I did have the "Heaven" EP however.

    Gil Kloepfer

This was also the "B" side of the 45RPM single of "Some Kind Of Friend"

    Christopher Todd Durnil

It wasn't on "Here Comes the Night" - but it IS on the e.p. "Oh, Julie!" that came out a couple of months before it. It should have been the single instead of "Oh, Julie" and probably could have been a bigger hit. It is one of Manilow's best uptempo songs, and certainly a lost gem.

A buried treasure for sure, so glad this was uncovered!

+giajbd I'm glad you're happy. Thanks for your comments. :)
