Manic Street Preachers - Some Kind Of Nothingness Lyrics
The sky is falling in on you
Crushed any happiness you knew
The tree gave more to you than love
It's still there but baby you're gone
All alone forever, conclusions foregone
Will you find some kind of nothingness?
Still and lonely like an old school photograph
Laid yourself out under the stars
Some peace at last so don't be sad
A fitting end to your end
But baby, death's our only friend
Remember you, stretched out in the sun
Will you find some kind of nothingness?
Still and lonely like an old school photograph
Your future glories all empty of thoughts
There's beauty doing nothing at all
It's what you wanted, it's what you got
Your final search for truth has stopped
There's beauty doing nothing at all
Never, never stop
Never, never, never stop
Never stop
Never stop
Never stop
Never
Remember you, stretched out in the sun
All alone forever, conclusions forgone
Will you find some kind of nothingness?
Still and lonely like an old school photograph

Manic Street Preachers Some Kind Of Nothingness Comments
What a tune. How this wasn't more successful I'll never know...
Corbynista millionaires ?.
I now who was in it
"featuring Ian McCulloch" should be added to the description.
Seen them before in the Olympia Dublin brilliant concert⚡️
Que música FODA!
Love Manic Street Preachers, look at the sea, looks like a Wool pool, James Dean Bradfield seems to have shouted,
ian mcculloch isn’t it?
This song and the album it's from evoke memories of times past and paint a picture of a moment in time gone forever ✌🏻 Love how reflective this album is, every song as deep as the ocean and just as pure 😎
best band ever
"Featuring Ian McCulloch" missing in description.
Correct me if I'm wrong, are the two cities in this video Cardiff and Liverpool?
JDB is class
THE MOUTH RULES
jE T'aime
I love you Ian Mcculloch
Now I make everything new
The most beautifully melancholic lyrics I've ever heard.
Love Love Love this song...this is another example why they are the greatest band in the world.
gospel bit at the end is amazing
The most beautiful lyric ever.
please see Arbucake
GREAT SONG!!
Long live the Manics!
I'm guessingthis video is part filmed in Cardiff and partly in Liverpool, if you know different please tell
1:33 definitely looks like St John's Gardens, by the Gladstone Monument.
Yes, the red brick buildings, and the large, open space that James walks across are in Cardiff Bay. Also the boat sails out from the bay into the Bristol channel. Not far from their old (now demolished) studio, and the flat that Richey owned.
why this song never made the top 40 when released? mental...
I know, right? Personally, I think it's their best song.
This song is about richie?
Amanda Díaz a black Labrador I’d say
Some kind of bliss / nothingness .
odlično
McCulloch <3
A beautiful tribute to Richey. I love this song so much
I never knew Richey was the subject!! Thank you!
als660 it's about dogs actually...no joke. Nicky explains it on the album DVD. Look at the lyrics again and they take on a different meaning
Brilliant, I can hear that now, Cheers Mate!!
Yeah...except it’s about Wire’s dog that passed away. “Remember you stretched out in the sun”
It's actually a tribute to Nicky's dog Lucy, but a beautiful tribute to anyone who means something nonetheless.
The sky is falling in on you
Crushed any happiness you knew

It's still there but baby you're gone
Remember you, stretched out in the sun

Still and lonely like an old school photograph
Laid yourself out under the stars
Some peace at last so don't be sad
A fitting end to your end
But baby, death's our only friend
Remember you, stretched out in the sun
All alone forever, confusions foregone
Will you find some kind of nothingness?
Still and lonely like an old school photograph

and then
lyrics in spanish. hey gringos. in sudameric can speack many leanguajes!
here for you friends of the north
las letras
El cielo se está cayendo sobre ti
Aplastó toda felicidad que conocías
El árbol te dio más que amor
Aún sigue ahí pero cariño tú te has ido
live long and prosper !
Respect brother!
The backing singers on this are 10/10
Nah, I wanna kill that choir as much as I'm into the Manics and Ian
Yes, i think that the choir brings emotion
@Nikki Starlover So you think that choir is there against Bradfield's will?
I think the band may been a bit too attached to it on the album, actually
@Nikki Starlover I believe it's a conscientious choice. Being the musician James is must be taken into account more than just temporarily being attached to a single feature of instrumentation Nikki.
Big Mac!!!
knowing already that he has a baritone type voice, Ian's vocals dont you think there are too low? should on the final mix put it higher, in my opinion.
btw love this great song and the gospel bit towards the end, love the manics!!!!!
i just love this song!!
You can defiantly see and hear Richy's influence, inspiration in this 'un.
*definitely
Brilliant Song ;w;
Remembers me to Queen´s "let me live", Manic Street Preachers are one of the most talented actual bands, they are so versatile and can compose on different styles..

Gran cancion, exelente letra. El coro gospel es genial
Hello from Russia!!! You are the best!!!
Who is that tramp in the parka?
secallen Ian mcculloch, just in case you weren't kidding
from echo and the bunnymen
I love this song too...my feeling is that its about reflection and maybe missing someone from the past
Amazing tune...good duet
Still writing amazing songs about loneliness 20 years later!
Love the gospel bit -
articulation of the way we feel isn't it folks ?
Manics are very lucky with their duets. Traci Lords, Nina Personn and now Ian McCulloch!
Manics and Bunnymen: a combo that could only be brilliant.
JDB is brilliant man,all of his songs are magical,i love him every time even more, when i listen his songs:)!!!

great song mac is faultless what a voice
AMAZING
this is not visible in the US. just seeing it now.
beautiful song. and the moment on the 3rd minute where they sing the chorus and the sun shines through the clouds on the sea is epic.
R.I.P whitney
@thisaccursedman I wouldn't question their motives like you do, and I think Tigers and Postcard are just fine, but I do prefer the Manics without these "hard rock with strings" arrangements. Even the better songs on This Is My Truth or Postcard are the ones without strings.
@sorathehero82 i want to know what happened to him , strange they never found any remains of him
@Ledonist Although I really don't want to get into a tiresome studenty discussion over people's perceptions of art, I would say that art as a medium is something that gives us insight into the truth by being an artificial mirror image of life. However, the way I judge Art is if its exciting or poignant or beautiful or ugly or well executed: in essence if it makes me feel something. This video didn't do that. "Art is the lie that helps us understand the truth". This didn't help. The song does.
23.500 watch ?!?!?!?
Sounds good... my dad saw him in a welsh bb
AMAZING SONG BUT SLIGHTLY BORING VID
Manics <3 Best one on the album :)
@Partoftheratpack hahhahaha I found that out 15 years ago...what took you so long ;)
