Manic Street Preachers - Futurology Lyrics
Defenders of the faith
With cruel hearts they make
You scarred and insecure
Scared to say a word
We’ve all fallen prey
We’ll come back one day
We never really went away went away
One day we will return
No matter how much it hurts and it hurts
We’ve all killed some ants
All had broken plans
All failed ourselves
A magnifying glass
With questions left to ask
We’ll come back one day
We never really went away went away
One day we will return
No matter how much it hurts and it hurts

After holy bible and everything must go, futurology prob best album they have done ?
Such a cool, well edited and deep music video pared with an amazing song. Superb.
HELL OLD SCHOOL YEAH
just saw that this album got number one in the uk in 2014, beating the villainous fuck ed sheeran and his anti-music and it's all the more reason to love them
Very good song
That bass solo... just ace
So this is MSP´s "Zooropa"?
1. brexit 2. sarmat 3. liars, traitors, criminals, fools, temptiness
The best band of the history..yessssssssss
გენიალური ჯგუფი.
As as 5 year long /r/Futurology mod, I approve this message.
Great track ruined by Nicky 'foghorn' Wire
Now that Nicky has teased us that this might be their final album, I'm wondering what these lyrics might mean.
Whenever I'm having a bad day, I stick this video on and everything is better!
Their whole career is a code towards self love ❤️
This song is beautiful!
I like the Parallax View homage video..
what happened to the girl?
i'm happy for knowing all of their songs , they never lose their essense
Favorite band of all time. James' beautiful voice makes my day every time
What is this wishy-washy gunk? No tune, totally poiiiiintless lyrics.
Powell Pressburger maybe you don't get the lyrics because you're not bright enough
I think that this track from the Manic Preachers is their best so far ! For me it hits all the right places about the fragility & strength of humanity ! Love, peace & war .The dilemma of misunderstanding life today in 2016 & attempting to make sense of banal events & situation projected onto & into our brains from miscommunication & false messages. The battles ,the struggle to survive & the desire to go to another place . Yep ,I'll give 5 out of 5 !
With each album Nicky Wire gets better at singing.
No other band means so much too me as the Manic street preachers do
Is it just me or does this song sound like the manics version of " All bourgeuis now " ?
Deutschland!
Watching this for about the 100th time, trying to understand it is like doing a degree in philosophy.
It's the magic of the manics, you can never work out what the fuck they are talking about. It's beautiful.

still one of the best albums of 2014
Stay beautiful as you always been, Manics! With love from Russia.
Just fantastic, as ever. Yet another Manics song which gets lovingly stuck in my head. How do they do it?
no mp3 on amazon
Frankly saying, I've not heard better than this album since the beginning of last decade. I mean all music.
''Единство,-возвестил оракул наших дней,-быть может спаяно железом лишь и кровью'...'Но мы попробуем спаять его любовью!А там увидим , что проч ней! Ф.И.Тютчев 1870г.
27 people are Pastologists
+Zen Juddhism Ахахахахх!
Love the manic street preachers only if there was 30 year war song was here to listen to, best music band
me like. They speaking German at start hehhe
Good song. It says it's been released as a single.. did it not make the charts?
No, the manics never do nowadays 😣
@pigammon And yet the album reached #2 in the charts! How can you be an album band in 2014?! The Manics just defy all reasoning and logic and continue to do things their own way with pure class!
Back in the 90s a #2 album would be almost guaranteed to spawn about 4 top 40 singles - but this one must've missed the top 200! Ah well, guess chart positions aren't that important
That's what I mean ... in the since the 90s it's been very rare that an album sells well without a bunch of chart-friendly singles (80s and earlier is was relatively common place; perhaps people were more patient?), but the Manics just defy the trends! Awesome!
You gotta love the Manics man cos the other music out there on the airwaves is shit ..
well done a great song, love it. :=)
Both great songs though !
Does anyone else think this is a complete rip off of Aztec camera's Good morning Britain ???
I beg to differ.
Complete rip-off, as much as Aztec camera where influenced by Donna Summer when they wrote Good morning Britain
They just ripped off Donald Where's Your Troosers.
I found an independant folk-rock artist who deserves to be heard : his name is *"Nikö Laetailleurs"*. If you're searching for a new sound, it could be for you....
Is this the breakup album? I remember JDB talking about it at an interview when they released KYE during the Cuban gig era, but thankfully they kept at it.
@leopheard I'd put loads of money on a 20th anniversary of Everything Must Go tour and remastered re-release. I know that's not new music, but their not going to squander that opportunity surely!
In all honesty I just don't see the Manics ever breaking up. Which is certainly a relief to me personally as a fan, but also because the guys themselves have repeatedly said that their lifelong friendship is so woven into being in a band that they would effectively have to stop being friends in order to break up as a band. And on top of that, they've said that "the ideas just keep on coming," in terms of music, and that's hardly up for debate considering how prolific they've been with Rewind the Film and Futurology being released within a year of each other and how distinct and different they were in style. The Manics are far, far from done and I say that's good!
Long live the Manics probably the most underrated band ever, fantastic album, just goes to show you can reach your 40's and still mange to be bloody cool and stay beautiful...
scary shit at start
Thumbs down for not making the video available in the USA
Gozo at 0.44, 2.46 and 2.55.
Otherwise, great track!
This album is up there with THB 20 years apart and equally epic.
DIZZY...
Great song. Great video. Love the manics. Bring in the Holy Bible tour!!!!!!
Ace. Strong song but honestly my least favourite song on the album (which is amazing overall). Knew this would be a single as soon as I heard it. Why 'The Last Time I saw Paris' was not on the main album I don't know... Great Video. Keep it up guys!
I agree! Sex, power, love and money should have been the next single, or let's go to war
@underneonloneliness2 Yeahhh Sex, power, love and money would be a great single!
Best manics video I've ever seen
I like the whole album, and the music videos you are making are really well done!
I liked this song so much that I pressed like.
Love this song and love the album first comment too :) long live the manics :)
