Manic Street Preachers - Another Invented Disease Lyrics
Drugs come out of boredom babe
U.N. exports it everyday
Their armies feed the ghetto lame
Government approve it just the same
I need to feel alone amongst the weeds
Daylight bores the sunshine out of me
I need to feel (I need to feel)
I need to feel (I need to feel)
We need and we will always need
Another invented disease
We need and we are taught to need
Another invented disease
Where germs are free not amex fun
Healthy bodies in empty minds
Only exists in advert time
Daylight bores the sunshine out of me
I need to feel alone amongst the weeds
Daylight bores the sunshine out of me
I need to feel (I need to feel)
I need to feel (I need to feel)
We need and we will always need
Another invented disease
We need and we are taught to need
Another invented disease
Sunk deep in my TV
Maybe sucked the soul from within me
We need and we will always need
Another invented disease
We need and we are taught to need
Another invented disease
We need and we will always need
Another invented disease
We need and we are taught to need
Another invented disease

THE GREATEST BAND THE WORLD HAS AND WILL EVER HAVE
This is the best manics album
I'd forgotten how brilliant this album was - wow!
Where germs are free not amex fun
Haha, I must have heard this 100 times since it came out, but I've only just noticed that the opening riff is quite similar to Even Flow. Never noticed the cheeky snatches of Paradise City, either. You know what they say, talent borrows...
"The sunshine bores the daylights out of me"
(Rolling Stones - "Rocks off" - 1972)
"Daylight bores the sunshine out of me"
(Manic Street Preachers - "Another Invented Disease" - 1992)
:)
"And you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man"
sounds like megadeth copied some riffs from this for their 1994 song 'train of consequences' :)
The song is so underrated! The song encapsulates both grunge, pop punk and metal (dat rythm riff during the bridge to the chorus!!!). Does anyone know, why it is disliked (by the band)?
I agree I have an early release with a sticker on it saying this song was one of the singles.(although anyone could have put the sticker on)
I dislike the lyrics though.
I dont know why bored outa my mind did not make the album.
@phillip carl Roberts Same with 'Never Want Again'.
The band hate this song, said this was not the direction they wanted to go in.
@Jimmy The Clown they hate it, look at the video on here where they describe the album track by track.
One of the best manics songs there is

Sunk deep in my T.V.
Maybe sucked the soul from within me

shame it's a drum machine, i don't know why they did that
To save money, as they overspent big time on the promotion.
