Manic Street Preachers - A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun Lyrics

We've finally found a way
To consume boredom every day
We've all become our personal gods
We've all become so sad and lost
So sad
So sad and lost

A billion balconies facing the sun
A billion faces turned to their screens
The perfect answer to camouflage our screams
A billion lies becoming the truth
An ecstasy of the eye
As wide as eternity tonight

We found expression for our hate
Without any kind of consequence
Who needs patience anymore
When all our pleasure's virtual

A billion balconies facing the sun
A billion faces turned to their screens
The perfect answer to camouflage our screams
A billion lies becoming the truth
An ecstasy of the eye
As wide as eternity tonight

This is one of my favourite MSP songs and I’ve been a fan from the beginning and bought everything they’ve released.

The Manics have written the soundtrack to my life. There are parallels too, my brother committed suicide on the eve of his 27th birthday. I live about half my life in Australia, so the song Australia resonates pretty strongly with me. I’ve lost a close member of my family to cancer. I know the difficulty in wanting them to keep sleeping because in sleep she didn’t suffer, but selfishly always wanting them to wake up so I could have even just a few more minutes of them to myself.

@LoLzZ85 I agree. MSP are my favourite band and, despite their extensive back catalogue, including some class songs, this is up there among my favourites.

Right now, Manic Street Preachers are my second favourite band, but second is pretty amazing considering my favourite band, Marillion, have been my favourite for about 4 years. This whole album is awesome, and right now I can't go a day without listening to Manics.

icepaw99 They are the best band in the world. That was always their ambition when they were young. Their other ambition was to release the best debut album by any band ever. In my opinion they achieved that with Generation Terrorists. They wanted to release such an album and then immediately break up the band. I’m so glad they didn’t do that! They’ve given me years of pleasure.
