It appeared on the Japanese only Forever Delayed EP, then on the Lipstick Traces album. It was recorded for the Forever Delayed greatest hits album as a bonus song, but for some reason they decided not to use it.

I'm writing this heading back to Nottingham, after an amazing weekend in my South Wales Valleys' hometown. This song is the perfect soundtrack. MSP forever. Xx

Does anyone know what year this is from because it says it's from '92 but the vocals make it sound a lot later than that because it doesn't sound like James' early voice?

good pick-up-i thought it was from 98 this is my truth era b-side but after checking wiki it was recorded in 2002 to accompany the greatest hits compile but mustve changed their mind as was only released on lipstick traces- such a strong b-side game !
tracks like Prologue To History,Sepia, Comfort Comes,Close My Eyes,Judge Yrself and this one my particular favs- the only other band that could boast a similar b-side collection would be Suede

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this before but I'm sure this song is a complete homage to (or semi-rip-off of) the Smashing Pumpkins 'Tonight Tonight.'

I know James has said in interviews that No Surface All Feeling was their take on a Smashing Pumpkins song. And if so... this is a good thing!

Well, the similarity in “All Surface No Feeling” should be obvious.

I listened to this song nightly as my ex-gf was in hospital over a 2 week period. 4 years on this still makes be back. Especially the second chorus, because that is when the guitar really kicks in hard. If you're reading this, I still think of you everyday.
