My mom told me I learned this song by heart when I was 2 years old, back in 1954. In 2003 I had a secret love in Mandy Moore. :-) This is her voice at its best. She can belt it out like a star on Broadway yet retain an inviting lyricism. Reminds me of the way she sings the key song in "A Walk to Remember".

I am just so impressed with Mandy's growth as an artist. It's a universe between her "Candy" and this beautiful rendition of Secret Love from the film, Mona Lisa Smile released in 2003. Her vocals from 1:15 with that high c to her b @ 1:28 and then that gentle vibrato in her voice on the a and especially the a-flat at 1:28 -1:33 are simply stunning. "Enchanting" doesn't begin to describe the quality of her voice. This is a real winner of a song and I don't know how it didn't make it to the top ten. If they ever name a "Golden Age of Mandy Moore" it will be from 2003 to 2007 or so. That was her best work and this is one of her best songs, along with "Help Me, I Think I'm Falling In Love Again".

Well, perhaps I worded it wrong, but if you read my comment clearly, it only attacks Jessicas acting ability. Have you ever seen the woman 'act'? It's pretty bad. And yes kudos to here she has made a bazillion dollars, but i do disagree with you, that my opinion on Jessica retracts all truth I mentioned before that. That's what I tihnk of her, and i'm not going to say otherwise just to sound "truthful"...

Wonderful sweet voice for a truly beautiful song. This is one of my favorites, along with "Theme From Mahogany" (Diana Ross), and a few others, including "Ï Will Always Love You" (Whitney Houston, written by Dolly Parton). And also missed the great Donna Summer.

Up until 2004 she gave the most epic damn Performances anybody has ever seen. and you cannot deny that, she did her thing and did it well. Britney really can sing, tho there are various reason why she doesn't. Any true Brit fan who isn't delusional, will tell you from roughly 1996-2000 and even early 2001 Brit actually gave quite a few live preformaces without lip-syncing, complete with a damn backflip on stage lol.
