Mandolin Orange - One More Down Lyrics

I went out on the town
For just one round
And it seemed one down just won't enough
I have no broken heart, but I know enough to play the part
Here's one more down and that's just the start

For I'm a fool for the finest girl
But she's no fool for me
I try and try to catch her eye
And pray someday that she may see

But time is my answer
Dragging water through the crowd
Eyeing a dancer, dancing on my cloud

I hear tell of that mourning dove
She flies from pine to pine
So I'll take wing, mourn and sing
Until that girl for me is mine

So I lay down with circles in my head
And dream a dream I never had
I was climbing down a mountain into a deep, dark hole
And in that dream, it didn't seem all that bad

    That cello is sweet!

    Z.... R....

Zaine Ridling it’s a string bass, but agree it sounds great. Cello players sit when performing, it’s quite a bit smaller than the bass.

I love their music but the years are hard on their faces and I can't help but notice how she keeps looking at him throughout the song. I get the feeling that something is wrong!

    A.... M....

Everything gets old. Of too familiar that you can’t get comfortable any longer. Sometimes it passes. Sometimes it don’t.

  18. M.... P....

I like that you are using a bass player, creates a richer sound, beautifully 😄

  28. R.... T....

You two are terrific and it is only my opinion but I like only the two of you and not when you add a third or fourth member. Just my view, guys.

  37. J.... W....

No bull , just real music .

  38. b.... ....

The thing about these guys, outside of superb music & playing, is the care they take with their YouTube videos. Just about all are great quality. This one is more bottom-heavy, but once you dial into the mix, it's great. I'm going to order a couple of t-shirts and cd's from their website.  Support these guys!

    b.... ....

Agreed. I fell in love with these two first time hearing them. Did their "Missouri Borderlands" and well it's written by a terrific gentleman whose name, I am ashamed to admit, escapes me just now. :-) Oh, I subbed to you though that implies no obligation on your part. LOL

I've seen them only twice and they sound the same . At the last concert I sat my drink on stage, it was so intimate . I felt like they drove all that way to pull on my emotions. I absolutely love these two

  39. p.... e....

    Brilliant and haunting
Nice river backdrop too, great performance and love their vocal blend

  40. L.... P....

Amazing!  That girl is just perfect :)

  41. P.... ....

Does anyone know who makes that mandolin? It has such a wonderful sound.

    P.... ....

@PeaceLoveThought If you squint real close you can see it's a high end Kentucky mando.

    P.... ....

Not sure about this one, but saw them a few weeks back and he's now playing a Henderson model.

  42. B.... D....

Wow, I just found these guys today and I can't get enough of them.

  43. K.... M....
