I'm a 56 year old married man with a beautiful family. I've become successful in my field of work. I like racing, I like shooting my guns, and my favorite band is Rush. However, no matter what time of day...what day of the week...wherever I am...this song brings me to my knees! I have to struggle to compose myself when I play it at work. The song is so painful yet I cannot stop playing it. I cry like a baby when this song plays over the end credits of "A League of Their Own." Madonna has pried her way into my soul with this masterpiece. It makes me want to visit the baseball fields I played in as a youngster and drive through the parking lot of my elementary school. And, I'm melancholy, once again.

It's all about AGE. It happened exactly the same to any super star from the Golden Age yet Madonna was able to last much longer.... but she made one big mistake: at 50 she started following the trends, first Hard Candy then MDNA. Now lame Instagram, Skin Care and fake ass: WTF is that? I remember one reporter stating that 'Only Madonna could destroy Madonna' and he was absolutely right! The older version of herself completely destroyed her career, it's like some alien entity took over. Yes, the young Madonna would spit on the older version of herself, no doubt.

She lost her confidence when she turned 50. Her marriage fell apart and the cosmetic surgery became all too obvious, as if she thought, the more she did, the more youthful she would look, when in fact the opposite was true.
But her major mistake was leaving Warner Bros. She ended up with more control and a bigger percentage, but over the following decade, the returns diminished to such an extent, that even if she'd cut a poorer deal with WB than she'd ever had, she would have still been better off than the place she now finds herself in, unable to sell albums and concert tickets and (unhappily) playing theatre venues in limited markets. It's a sad and sorry chapter for an icon who, until 2008/9, was still at the heart of popular culture.

1992 what a year! Thought I married my dream girl that summer. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for us. She went her way and so did I. Once we got our divorce I never seen or heard from her again. It’s been close to 30 years. Hope she’s doing fine. Sending her my prayers and thoughts! This song is touching in so many ways.
