this is not a unreleased demo from like a virgin sesions , this is a demo from 1981 when emmys and the emmys the madonna band before the first album , was produced for stephen bray and madonna.

Am I just dreaaaaming xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo When i bought the In The beginning CD in 2000 and heard Stay '81 I simply MELTED and I still MEGA MELT <3 <3 <3 I don't know why this wasn't on the first album, it's just ridiculous as it's a MASTERPIECE xoxoxoxoxoxo Don't You Know which is also featured on 'In The Beginning' features the lyrics 'You, you make my life much brighter baby, you're always on my mind' ... Which were used for the opening lyrics for Stay '85 on Like A Virgin Album ... And Stay, Stay darling in the chorus that was retained from this version of Stay.

Even a demo,it is completely different to 84 version.

Like A VIrgin was recorded in mid 84 so how could this be from those sessions in 81? Misleading...

Cause this was the demo

It was shelved and then used again for the LAV album with different production. She tends to do that a lot. I love New York was originally recorded during the AL period and there were rumours of Devil Wouldn't Recognize You being recorded even back to the Music sessions until it finally was released in Hard Candy.

Stay and Dress You Up are my two favorite tracks from the album, but this one is amazing! This version should've been on The First Album. I like that early 80's New Wave sound.

I got this on the Pre-Madonna CD. it features demos and unreleased tracks on it like "Stay 81" "Crimes of passion" "Don't you know? and "Laugh to keep from crying"

This was an unreleased song that didn't make it from the first album back in 1981. One of madonna's first ever record with Stephen Bray which e released unauthorized in 1997 (the birth of Lourdes)
