Madness - Tomorrow's (Just Another Day) Lyrics
Trying hard, I thought I'd done my best
All my life, I can't get no rest
Some who've closed the door before
Say I can't carry on no more
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them saying
And it gets better every day
I hear them saying
Tomorrow's just another day
Listened long, tried to take it in
All these facts leave me in the swim
It's down and down there is no up
I think that I've run out of luck
I hear them saying
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them saying
And it gets better every day
I hear them saying
Tomorrow's just another day
Tomorrow's just another... day
Walking now, over covered ground
There is a chance if I move around
I need a moment to reflect
On the friendships I have wrecked
Why is it time don't I always try?
I hear them say
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them say
And it gets better every day
I hear them say
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them say
And it gets better every day
I heard them say
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them say
Tomorrow's just another day
Tomorrow's just another...
I hear them saying
Tomorrow's just another day
I hear them saying
And it gets better every day
I hear them saying
Tomorrow's just another day

Tomorrow's Another Just Day?
Maybe not as juvenile as some of their other songs but still class. Fantastic harmonica playing throughout and the drumming breaking up the song on 2:10. Great use of sax on the second half of the song too, with a surreal video to boot but not without a sense of humour.
I was a teenager in the 80s...i appreciate all the 80s bands MORE now...Quality fun and full of MEANINGS...Todays music is NOTHING compared to this....
Such a talented band, they could make their music both melancholy and joyful at the same time.
One of my favourite songs ever, definitely the most catchy.
I love this song so I'm glad there's like eleventy-billion versions for me to sink my teeth into
This version
The warp mix
The album version
And the version Madness did with Elvis Costello
I guess you could say that I "listened long" to this banger...
...Sorry I had to make that joke...
I Love this song
Interesting Masonic imagery.
Used to think you were good, but your worship the wrong god boys.

Like The Kinks, they captured the mood of those times better than anyone else.
Indeed. Again like the Kinks, Beatles and the specials etc their music is still relevant today sometimes more than it was back then...
The Best of Word !!!
Yeah, it be like that sometimes.
The house 238 Haverstock Hill.
Absolute genius. The first band to really embrace videos. Hopefully time and history will appreciate them more.
Think its my fave of Madness
3:08 Jake Paul could learn a few things
Brilliant band brilliant music bring back the 80s
The mock punch bit at 03:07 makes me chuckle every time. Love me some nutty bois.
But, somone please explain why Suggs has a belt round his coat?
My favorite part is his delayed reaction to the punch, makes it that much more funny.
I honestly keep telling myself this. Down & down, there is no luck...Too right! I’m about ready to spend 5 quid to spend a penny. You dinna here it here tho.
Love, hugs & rhubarb.
❤️ Danny
People forget what this band had done and the meanings of their songs. They are just amazing all past present band members are important to worlds music.
My fave Madness jam, alongside Wings of a Dove, and Los Palma's 7.
Do Laranja Mecânica Anthony Burguesa, o melhor e o último Capítulo, quando Alex sai do Hospital, e virá Presidente.
...E o Mundo Não Acabou...Somem umas Coisas, mas tem mais Gente que Lembra!

La meva cançó preferida de Madness
One of the best bands EVER! <3
The music of Madness perfectly accommodates what goes on in my head 99.9% of the time.
Love Madness from i 1st seen them on TOTPs 79 Skin Head 4ever
Can someone tell me which street they are in in the beginning?
Parkway Camden Town
The perfect song when you’re depressed
and when youre not
Still watching this in 2019!
Loved this when I was a kid
This song...is so perfect.
Madness, pure greatness.
Says more about depression than any song I know.
what do they say at intro after thursday friday? ta! x
I wish I had wrote this song.
Perfectly MADNESS what a time for music just a shame Britain was under Torys at the time with Thatcher (the iron milk thief). The ruin of Great Britain.
We got our school milk OK at junior, when they used to bring a crate of little bottles into the classroom (and I always hoped it wouldn't start to go sour if it was a warm day) but by then Labour were back in.
Oh myyyyy always have always will love em xxxxxxxxx
My idols as a kid
IVE SEEN ALL THEIR SONGS!
Starting to realise why I was a bit of precocious, sad child lol. Don't give your 6 year old Madness cassettes
Borrowing heavily from Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks.
Just another day walk in the park and I have a couple of drinks 🍹 was a day 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I don't understand why folks see this as dark. It's saying we all have shit times but next day could be different. I find it a real uplifting song if your in that place that you just need a little hope on the possibility of things being different tomorrow! It's my blue mood go to song!
AND............has Bedders as a joyful Daffodil! Perfect!
His smile could end wars......I'm sure of it!
The only song of theirs I find unavoidably dark is,what else,Grey Day.
How can people dislike the music and/or the music videos?
An *_entire band_* of hot talented dudes. How did I miss crushing on these guys when I was 15?
Tomorrow's just another day, go fxxk em that's what one of my mates said to me when leaving school put me in good stead
Unlike modern music, where they flash around $$$ and babes you never get, this music actually made you feel good about your own life.
Mostly because half of their songs are about broken relationships, alcoholism and other problems that most people can relate to.
1:37 pause it and you'll see a double-chin!!
Behind all that comedy lies a lot of melancholy and superb musical phrases I’ve never heard before! Madness sound will last for ages. With all my respect for the band members, Mike Barson is a fucking genius !
just gone down a madness rabbithole, and wholly crap.. this stuff is absolutely epic!!!
Happy music with melancholic words! Awesome song arrangements that have aged very well. Ahead of their time with their social conscience at the forefront.
tommorow's antoher just dey
Love madness always have done since I was a kid in the 70's and teenager in the 80's. They take me back to my school days.
Sounds a bit like
the Kinks... wich is hard to do. Great job.
Johnny Puddu The intro to Lazin' on a Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks plus echos of Tainted Love by Soft Cell in the intro
But a totally original identity in all their work!
the british sense of humour i love it!!! you are the best
The song begins proper at 0:42
Fuckin class. Makes you proud to be British. Love me a bit of Madness
Yeah... tomorrow's just another day... But then comes Friday! Friday I'm in love!!!)))
They have the midas touch
Top 3 London bands
Madness
Spandau Ballet
Rolling Stones
Domine Wimbury Domine Wimbury The Stones are actually from Dartford. However Spandau & Madness are all north London boys from Islington & Camden respectively. Chris Foreman the madness guitarist went to the same school most of Spandau ballet attended, 'Dame Alice Owens' and was in the same class as their manager Steve Dagger.
Madness forever
Back then in 1982 and 1983 Madness cranked out masses amounts of music videos. New one every week or so.
this song tomorrow's just another day is my gearstick song
like first to second and third to fourth
Take one of the world's most boring people and make him the centre of world attention...this is going to happen!
I presume the 'fairly downbeat subject matter' refers to prison life?
And just life in general.
For those caught in the trap called Life....

Thanks!!
fun vid, thank u for " fin" cause u've got much in 🇫🇷, Madness 4 ever 💖 !!
Laughed at Suggs staggering back after getting golf ( ping-pong) balls hit in his eyes. Perhaps I'm just cruel!
Just watched this video again. Saw it just one time before, on Top of the Pops, when this was in the charts in early 1983. That image of a bloke in a furry animal costume punching someone out is what stayed with me for the 34 years in-between!
Can we just stop and appreciate Bedders in daffodil costume?
Yes, we can and we should.
It's the best! Innit!
I think he should just become a daffodil.....he missed a calling there!
His mum was a teaching assistant at my primary school
For me it´s more of a soul/blues soul song than a pop one just like many others. Don´t consider them a pop band although they classify themselves as a pop group
Pedro Monforte
Well, it's more complex than blues, and probably too upbeat for soul.
If you listen to other Brit music with horn sections in this time period outside of ska, and highly melodic, it would qualify as pop.
Brit Pop acts that used horn sections or horns: Beatles, McCartney solo, Howard Jones, psychedelic furs, Cure etc.. Notice the melodic thread? People want to classify things as alternative, but they exist under a larger umbrella. And sometimes expressions such as "alternative" fall out of vogue, the default being pop.
-Anna Scoria
Madness too a certain extent we're a genre unto themselves. Every single they put out was completely different to what had gone before.
Ska band really more than pop
I'm 15 listening in 2017 I would of loved it in the 70
Better get your act together. Suggs was only 16 when we joined Madness as the singer. ;)
This is 80s
Yet another awesome track from them.
Open letter to president Trump.
You have been quoted ”Always be around unsuccessful people because everybody will respect you”. The office you are about to enter shouldn´t in any way be a reflection
of that policy. If you are to regain any credibility you should throw out everyone that supported you but do not qualify as ”the best and the brightest”. That might require breaking bonds of friendship and brutish honesty, but for the sake of the country and the fate of this planet you mustn´t bring in incompetent but loyal losers to the white house.
P.S. Have a heart, and by the way - you have a horribly rude group of supporters.
This has NOTHING to do with this song.
Brilliant
life is just a another day lov madness another day on lifes toll
pure class 1979 the birth of the 2tone /ska/nutty movement amongst the disaffected youth of thatchers britain... Loved every damn second of it.
Thatcher was elected in 1979 and The wall was released in 1982 not sure how that is years before!!
But maths was never my strong point.
@specop67 The album was in 79. The movie was in 82.
Ok fair play my bad, but that still doesn't mean it was years before Thatcher was elected.
+Allan Fada. So true mate. Music, clobber, booze and... Football violence. Nothing better than the taking of an end with 150 of your pals. Miss them days. Up the Chels
And if you were in the West End chances were you'd see a guy with those "the end of the world is nigh" sandwich boards on,in the days when the world was always rumoured to be going to end in such and such a year (usually 2,3 or 4 years from whatever year it was) for one reason or another.
fucking quality
I like how they give it a preference from the beatles' hard day's night movie and their humour for sure
I sometimes feel like the bit where Suggs is trying and failing to catch the flying umbrellas. This stuff makes my life a better place. Thanks guys.
Yep, my son made me a gif of that moment. Exactly how I feel sometimes. But when it ends up with Bedders as a daffodil....all is well with the world!
luv these guys soo much, :-D
Who is the guy at 1:50 with the beard and sunglasses ?
Chas Smash
the nutty boys pure class seen them twice at Carlisle races
No, sure on Friday!!!
but which friday? THAT IS THE QUESTION!!!!
+HUNDmitMÜTZE Only godfather will know!
