Madness - That's The Way To Do It Lyrics
Well I've been here and I've been there
And I've been almost everywhere
There's not a thing that I can't repair
Cause I'm Stan, yes I am
I'm a tradesman, I know all the tricks
There's not a thing that I can't fix
Beginners use my concrete mix
I'm Stan, yes I am
The odd job man
Well, that's the way to do it
Just be as quick as a flash
And always ask for cash
Any job that you want done
Phone me up cause I'm the one
Electrical, plumbing, woodwork too
I'll do the job
That's right for you
Well, that's the way to do it
Just be as quick as a flash
Don't hang about, just in and out
And always ask for cash
I've never done the same job twice
Listen to me, take my advice
I'll double the work for half the price
The finished job
Will look, looks nice
I've been around and had some fun
There's not a job that I've not done
No unemployment where I'm from
Jack-of-all-trades
Master of none

Madness That's The Way To Do It Comments
I’m here because because of Madness and I love the song. Reminds me of that 60’s Bernard Cribbins song ‘Right Said Fred’ and yes I did notice it was featured in Gone Girl...quite a peculiar choice for a Hollywood movie because it’s such a local British vaudeville song.
Perdida me tiene pal hoyoooo
B side to The Return Of The Los Palmos 7.
"God I f**king hate eighties...no lyrics ever made sense"
we feel you nick dunne😂😂😂
here's to ammy dunne!
You are a fully grown woman stop texting like a child and use capital letters appropriately and spell right it's Amy Dunne.
No one does it better. They created something unique combing elements of ska music new wave ,vaudeville and a touch of the mod tradition and eventually changed my life.Madness it's all in the mind.
I'm here because of gone girl too😂
Jajaja también vengo por Gone Girl
I'm here because I'm a nutty boy
Thank you!!!!!
Never heard this song, I just googled it after coming across it in "Gone Girl," the acclaimed novel by Gillian Flynn. I see that there are others here who only came for the same reason...I would love to know what you think of the novel so far! I have struggled so much with it, and it is only just getting me spellbound, now at page 200 or so! (Don't spoil the end for me, I am just up to where Go googles the song!!! )
normalil normalil OMG me too I'm on page 260 and wanted to know if it was a real song
LOL, that's me. No unemployment here!
"Gone Girl" brought me here XD
Thumbs up if you came to this song because of Gone Girl.
I guess everyone's here because of gone girl haha
I came cos I've been a Madness fan for almost fuckin 40 years, mate!!!!
Here due to Gone Girl...I was kind of hoping this song didn't exist. It's not as shitty as I expected though.
gone girl omg books is awesome after pg 200 gets so good!!!
+Diobanny Jimenez I so agree...the first 200 pages were very hard work!
for real....im freaking out
gone boy!
"Gone Girl"!
Im currently listening to the audiobook ! So interesting!
If I could recite every song I would... Breath won't take it.. Madness they call it "Gladness"
It's funny but they mentioned this song in the novel "Gone Girl" so I looked it up. The only Madness song that was a big hit here in The States was "Our House(In Middle Of The Street)" as far as I know anyway...
Just found a record ive had years with this on the B side, shame I not got a record player

I wore out the B side of this as a kidski.
