Yeah he went mainstream but he is not signed to any major record label because he wanted to rap about what he wanted rap about. He refused many record deals because he didn't want to be forced to write songs that are seen as "popular" today. He didn't want to write about "dropping molly" he wanted to write about his experiences. Macklemore is still Macklemore he hasn't changed.
