It's like, a combination of Colour in it and Wall of Arms, somehow powerful and young, plus that atmospheric feeling that Given to the Wild gave, a bit more mature sound.

The Maccabees" aparecieron en la escena londinense en torno a 2004 llamados a convertirse en una prometedora banda de éxito. Su debut "Colour It In" fue acogido con entusiasmo, aunque por entonces estaba a rebufo de otra emergente formación llamada Bloc Party, que se llevó los mayores halagos. Aquel grupo ya desapareció por culpa, en gran parte, del ego de su vocalista Kele Okereke. The Maccabees continúan y nos presentan su último trabajo después de tres años de silencio con "Given to the Wild" . Siguen fieles a ese sonido de guitarrazos, teclados y marcados cambios de ritmo, pero en esta ocasión regresan más fieros. "Marks to prove it", "Something like hapiness" y "Spit it out" es el trío ganador de este disco. La mano del productor Laurie Latham (Echo & The Bunnymen, Squeeze, The Stranglers), parece que les ha otorgado un plus de vitalidad en los arreglos. Es su cuarto disco y perfectamente puede ostentar el título de mejor disco de The Maccabees.
