I sang this to my momma and she cried, though she didn't care much when she was younger. My aunt and uncle raised me but I still loved her regardless. It was a way to tell her I love her and will be there no matter what. We all have a past, some good and some bad. No matter how low we get in life, we need to show love. Appreciation is key to life, even if your people or not. Your people and my people make a difference. At the end of the day color or language doesn't matter. Nothing "they" taught us is correct. Love is unconditional no matter ones color or orientation.

My son just dedicated this song to me he's young so he really didn't know Mac til after his death. His daddy got him listening to it . I was pregnant with him when his daddy bought me tickets to a concert in Atlanta. Mac was brand new and there was maybe 250 people there in a small college gym. I'll never forget being so up close.
