Mac DeMarco - Robson Girl Lyrics
Maybe when we're older we can try this over
Loving on the sidelines another one of my kind
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy
No one else's shoulder, I felt could be colder
Loving on the sidelines just one straight on my mind
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy
Robson girl, sit down by your daddy

It's amazing how people only watch like one song on the playlist and forget the rest. I don't get it.
Maybe they don't listen to the whole album, just the popular songs that come up on search
could be the start though
Chamber of reflection and then dip 🚪👈😐

What style is the solo? It sounds very West Coast. I imagine some 2001 college band playing this music in an abandoned beach house and everyone attending has liberty spikes and converse shoes.
noel cruz : the solo you're looking for is Television - Friction on their Marquee Moon album
Sounds kind of like something that Greg Ginn would play. Check him out, the band he plays with is quite a bit heavier than this but it fits the theme that you talk about in your comment. Listen to a guitar solo on just about any song on Black Flag's "Damaged" to see what I mean
It really reminds me of the solo in the song "Breed" by Nirvana. I think he uses it in the same vain as Kurt, mocking flashy guitar players with all the technic in the world, but no soul or emotion to be found.
I'd call this "post-rock": we've already seen everything in rock music and now it's just bands who are trying to revive the sound of past generations, or bands taking elements from this genre to create new styles.
In this case, Mac is influenced by both the Beatles and punk bands (like the Modern lovers) so there is some kind of full cycle (because they are supposed to be the opposite).
Today, there is no revolution movement like we could see in the first rock generation (Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly...), in the second wave (with the Beatles or the Stones) or with punks.
So there are just generic songs that have nothing important to say (except talking about cigarettes, jeans and love) and a laid back guy who is just kindly mocking his "rock ancestors" in the solo. This is why we like Mac Demarco: no pretention :)
What a talent.
I wish Mac would come to D.C. <3
Janae oh my goshhhhh he’s about to
Demarco need to come to LA!!! :)
He did he played at the Greek theatre and I was there:)
Macs always in LA don't be selfish I've had to drive hours to NYC and Philly to see him.
