everyone has a solution to the truck drivers problem in the us of a, its bull shit, nothing but more bull shit, one genuis claims the thing to do is do 4 to 8 hour shifts, moron called em short haul hops or some such shit, the idea is similar to what the pony express riders of days gone by would do to keep the horses moving in order to out run those god dammed long hairs, this is pure bull shit, drive from home for about six hours or so to that assigned drop off point and do something he called a hand off, pure shit if you ask me, horse hockey, than grab the truck sitting there waiting for a driver with your name on it and drive the fuckin thing back home, does this moron realize why most truckers take the god damned job in the first place, has he ever seen a truck drivers wife, my God man this why wr drive for a living, to stay away from mama and those God damned kids of hers, if it was not not for those precious owners of the trucking companies we would all be waiting in line at divorce court, those blessed angels have saved our marriage and our bank accounts, i dont know where jimmy hawler hoffa is sleeping, but a have a stinking feeling that the fella that trying to develop that enterprise is gunna find out, it aint gunna be safe for that fellow to be outside if this scheme sees the light of day, and i know i got a whole lotta brothers that feel my pain, leave the God damn trucking industry alone, brother, if ya know whats good for ya

Manny. I love that brother! I'm looking to get into OTR flatbed later in life than some. It's been nagging at me since childhood. I want out of the city and I want to live the life. I know all the bad shit, and I'm sure there is some I don't know about. But I'm a man with a strong will and despite all the negatives, I think I am cut out for the life. I love your positivity. I drove 18 wheeler 48 states and Canada back in the 1990's , child support forced me out of work and onto welfare back in 1999 by suspending my DL , all these years later the state still pays my way because once the state /gov forces you out of work they are responsible for raising / supporting your children

it is ronnie i'm guessing this was recorded on an 8 track!!  they were in the process of writing for the muscle shoals album !!  they never got the chance to go into the studio to produce it!!!  smoken tune!!!

See that orange&white Peterbilt around the end of the video,that's Clint Dick's truck.His dad is Terry of TDT (Terry Dicks Trucking).I worked for them.They are really good people.You could talk to Terry anytime.He never forgot where he came from,an O/O,who,last I knew has 400 Peterbilts!I sure working for them.I had to quit for health reasons.

When the kids were little, we would go on 20 hour road trips and call them vacations. Every time we would pass a big rig at least one of the kids would be pressed up against the window pumping their hand up and down so the driver would give it a blast on the horn...and they always did, with a huge smile on their faces. I was always riding shotgun and they would get a huge smile in return from me. Good memories!!!
