I love Veras voice, she's like an angel healing the heart.

Mrs Lynn has a lovely accent. She doesn't try to sound 'posh' like many singers of the time nor does she play up her working class background, like Gracie Fields. It just sounds 'correct'.

I heard this song at Tower of Terror Disneyland,CA at the queue. Sounds so scary there, but here its awesome!

It sounds spooky in the Tower of Terror queue because Disney added an echo effect on all the musics that play in the waiting line :D

I've always loved Vera Lynn's take on this song; she had and has a dreamy sense tempered by common sense. Her voice and musicianship, of course, have always been impeccable. She is a treasure.

Oh please don't put Dame Vera in the same sentence with Billie Holiday!

Billie was good, for what she did, but had no where near the purity of tone and virtuosity that Vera did. No comparison.

Dame Vera Lynn is in my humble opinion the finest white female vocalist of the 20th century. Billy Holiday her black counterpart.
