First, let me say me I am a huge Luther fan. Always have been. But sometimes singers that have their own unique style don't do justice to the actual original beautiful melody composed by the songwriter. I think this was one of those cases. Evergreen, as written by the songwriter, has a a beautiful melody; on it's own, untouched, and unaltered. I would have loved to hear Luther's great voice sing the song melody just as the songwriter composed it as opposed to the the "Luther Version". But, that said, I'll take this Luther version as well.

Such a beautiful voice ... this song means so much to us as a family ...our story is about our mam & dad who met when they were 11 & 12 yrs old & they became childhood sweethearts & later at the young age of just 16 & 17yrs old they got married.... dad always sang Luther's songs to mam ..then in 2002 at just 51 yrs old his lifelong love was diagnosed with a incurable fast growing brain tumour ...he brought her home from hospital to hold her & love her for three more weeks in they're home ...he played Luther to her & held & kissed her until she passed away in his arms ..we were devastated & dad still is .... mams headstone in memory of her is engraved underneath with the words " AGELESS & EVERGREEN" & she'll never grow old & neither will the love they shared .... thank you Luther for your soothing voice during mam & dads last days together .... rip mam "Lal " &" Luther" xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx......
