Lupe Fiasco - Double Burger W/ Cheese Lyrics

[Intro:]
Ohio
Tennessee
California
Endlessly
Right on, right on
Right on, right on

[Verse 1:]
Laid back, villain on the smooth tip
All things gravy, greatest fear to let the groove slip
Always tell the masters that it's never gon' stop
Cause you never gon' do shit
Magnify justice over long lost blues riffs
Mop up, sop up the tears for fears with a Q-tip
They proceeds to poke out they eyes with a toothpick
Remember when Larenz Tate beat Terrence with the pool stick
Or when Caine pistol whipped Chauncy and that fool snitched
Sent the tape to Bill Duke, would've went to jail
If he wouldn't have got killed in that drive-by by the dude he kicked
Cause he was like, "It ain't mine"
And she was like, "You the only guy that I do it with"
Remember when 'Pac and Q start fightin' over Steel's house
They broke a vase, Steel scream, Raheem told 'em to chill out
The jheri curl Blood that bumped Ricky eating chips
The same guy they was looking for when Ice Cube stopped to let Cuba out the whip
And wan' it sad how Loco had to have it?
And wan' it funny when they caught T-Bone, dancing with that rabbit
Didn't rocket have the same gun that the old man shot OG Bobby Johnson's son in the back with
Or do I got it backwards
And Bobby Johnson was the one that put his fist up to the glass
And Caine put his fist up and dapped it
And Chicago and Regina had sex inside the mail truck
They left his ass, he reached down to get his hairbrush
And Tré lied to Furious, sitting down get his hair cut

[Hook:]
Yeah, do you remember these
Double burger with cheese
Double burger with cheese
Double burger with cheese, huh

[Verse 2:]
Caine told him as he jacked him at the drive-thru
A hundred bucks will tell who rider mask put the knife to
Another hundred for the cop who chased New Jersey Drive crew
The group who took Ricky ball, Crip or Piru
Kicked Doughboy and told him he could buy a hundred balls
Little Bobby used his bed to iron out his overalls
Who knew in a few he would have a gun aimed
Caine had a nigga's Daytons skatin' on his Mustang
Remember when the whole crowd stopped and got tense
Then they cheered when Steel put his hand up on the fence
Then when Gee Money first got mad to the cocaine
And Chris Tucker OD'ed there watching Soul Train
Cam'ron shot him in the car and took his gold chain
Nino was free till he met up with that old man
And Ice-T was there and he oversaw the whole thing
Mello lost his legs just to get up out the dope game
Why he throw his gun into the river, though?
Just to hit the roof to get the juice and let Bishop go
Show Hodges love, but the Pac Man day came
'Specially after sprayed little ese with the spray paint
Remember when Bobby took off his tear
And when Doughboy disappeared
After his brother died and he said nobody cared
I still do, after all these years
Because he should've played ball
Ricky ain't deserve none of that at all
These are just a illustration
Of a few scenes that helped raise a generation

[Hook]

[Outro: Menace II Society excerpt]

Honestly because of the opening few seconds I decided to look up the Watts riots in '65. Interesting to see how heated things were with racism and how it forced the hand of blacks at the time to fight the institution. Lead me to read about Alvin Francis Poussaint. 81. i.... ....

    pure genius

  82. R.... A....

    26 people love buttplugs

  83. S.... Y....

Proof that it's not black people it's the environment that we where manipulated into accepting with these type of movies and media go and look up-snowball Chicago- and u will see that this is nothing to do with race or color. If u had went thru slavery and was oppressed like blacks u would b the same way proof look at the white people who were enslaved with us like the red legs in the Bahamas

    S.... Y....

Or Native Americans... Native people were enslaved first. A lot died from old world diseases, so they brought over Africans to make up for the losses. There was a lot of intermarrying... so African-Americans are all part Native American, which explains the major difference in appearance between West Africans fresh off the boat and African-Americans. There's also some European blood in the mix, but not very much... Most reservation natives are destitute...

    S.... Y....

Sorry but you're just way off base...In what way were black people manipulated by these movies? I haven't seen all of them, but I know for a fact that Menace II Society and Juice don't glorify crime whatsoever. They were both directed by black people and they're both very obvious, horrible tragedies. They're cautionary tales for young people...

  84. e.... b....

Best part was when he said "remember when dope boy disappeared after his brother died he said nobody cared, WELL I STILL DO" wow cuz I still do too!

    e.... b....

I still care too. Doughboy is also a double entendre- "doughboys" were American soldiers, and Doughboy/Ice Cube is a soldier in a war most Americans didn't see until hip-hop and these films brought that reality to life.

  85. c.... ....

Who told you to put the cheese on. Did I tell you to put the cheese on? I didn't tell you to put the cheese on. You people with the cheese, it never ends!

  86. B.... C....

So nice I always play it twice.

  87. B.... W....

So many references and perfect rhymes

    B.... W....

I don’t get why this song wasn’t more popular, oh hi BWB

  88. g.... j....

fun fact the dude that killed ricky is dead in real life

    g.... j....

Well it was bound to happen eventually.. Called life bro lol

  89. P.... T....

    Dead president

  90. m.... k....

    The movie is Dead Presidents.

  91. R.... ....

A few times a year something this creative will come out, it will be a hit on in the internet, yet it will get no airplay on the radio, no airplay on t.v., and hardly any critical acclaim, like it never happened.  That's the reality of the entertainment industry today.

    R.... ....

i love that it aint on the radio

    R.... ....

@Andy -Rew I agree fully with you. I hate radio crap.

    R.... ....

Needs to be reuploaded to Twitter by lupe in my opinion, then maybe it’ll start rolling. I bet people will think it’s a brand new song too.

    R.... ....

It wasn’t even an internet hit. 2018 and less that 300,000 views

    R.... ....

I think Lupe wanted it that way. He wanted only his REAL FANS find it!

  92. m.... ....

what movie is that where chris tucker OD?

    m.... ....

    Dead Presidents

  93. e.... ....

    hip hop....

  94. S.... R....

Muthafucka I said wit cheese nigga!
    Make that a doubleburger,WITH cheese.

  95. B.... N....

Thats an interesting way of looking at it. But I see it like this. I think media is set out to destroy humanity. These movies for example, they make the character that we want to be look cool and we're attracted to it, even tho it may end in tragedy, they always try to make it look like fun and games, especially to a young mind. I don't think these movies were exposing corruption to make us stay away, but rather promoting it.

  96. m.... ....

you can get it off datpiff. its on the "friend of the people" mixtape fo FREE

  97. m.... ....

    that's some real shit.
