Lucius - Nothing Ordinary Lyrics

Little bird flying in the breeze
Flying above the trees, he's crying
Because the wind is thick, lettin off a sour trick
From the smoky fumes, of fire

[Chorus:]
And there is nothing ordinary
Nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary
Nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary

Cattle fields spread across the land
Fills pockets full of cheap...thrills
Who's counting?
We've been milking it for its worth
How's about a rebirth?
Plant a seed and watch it grow

[Chorus:]
And there is nothing ordinary
Nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary
Nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary, nothing ordinary
[x2]

You can bend another one
You can't glue it back together
You can't glue it back together
You can bend another one
You can't glue it back together
You can't glue it back together
Once it's gone

Man cannot run this place alone
But when nature intervenes, keep trying
New is in, out with all the old
Just watch us make the bed, we'll lie in

[Chorus]

En algunas partes me hace recordar la voz de Sia

  2. I.... T....

    M.... ....

The voice of the drummer is amazing!

  6. I.... S....

Alguien en Mexico (Tlaxcala) que ame a estos musicos, son geniales!!! Compartamos gustos!!!

WARNING I love this band so my views are somewhat skewed. The title of the above tune is the most concise description I could think of for what these people do. Every time I see them on this site I feel I owe it to the rest of the people trying to get something going with their music to have a listen. I've seen two so far that were going their own way [ thanks Mac ] many many of the others are going some way but it's not my way. I have still never seen current in the now rock n roll done better. May their fancy flow for ...... ever dammit.

Great song! Reminds me of the Cold War Kids' Hang Me Out to Dry...

  9. T.... ....

I'm really not sure why and forgive me for this, but I'm looking for a reason to not like you and the good news (or the bad news) is I can't find one single reason. Super refreshing.

  10. M.... V....

so fucking good. i love this album. can't wait to see Lucius live <3

I keep coming back to this tune, they are flying the Berkley flag a little with these changes and the nice descending arpeggios on the outro. This band is not only really good, they are very smart about how they present their music. I hope to see more of these kind of lyrics from the writers in this band.

Joni and Jackson have grown tired of carrying all the weight of informing a seemingly comfortable numb populace. Get off you asses and break something, make some noise, raise hell if you care about eating clean food and water. The arsenic lovers have all the  money, they can and have  killed legislation that would make  the country aware of how much arsenic is in this country's water. The republiban silenced the EPA. Where the fuck is the democracy in that! Ecomomys are suppose the many not the one percent.

Agribiddniss and the republiban are milking this country into oblivion trying to grow korn  for gas an cattle instead of grains which could feed thousands more people with that same grain. The 2500 gallons per pound of beef is true and accurate if farmers are irrigating arid land to grow hay for beef cattle. If the cattle are on pasture land the figure drops to just under 800 gallons per pound of beet. This figure is still not sustainable land use. It is horror waiting for the tipping point. The people doing it here and in Brazil DO NOT CARE. Plant a seed, watch it grow. Thank you Lucius. Keep em coming.

    g.... ....

+guitron45 did you mean berklee flag?

    g.... ....

+Waste Nottingham Yes sorry never seen the name in print. Their education shows in a lot of way tho, to my knowledge they went to a music in New England regardless, of where it was they go their way. I was thinking also of the the Other Berkley and the era when people gave a shit about our home planet and what the money zhomby's are doing to it, screw the spelling the msg. is clear.

As far as complex rhythms and Mic and company, I was mostly thinking of a memory I have of them doing a tune and for a few bars they broke away from the de rigueur 2 and 4 every one is afraid d to leave fearing the dance folks won't know where ONE is. Two and 4 when they choose to use it is all the more powerful when it hasn't been beat to death in every tune of the set.

As far as your comments on the post slamming the drummer, I agree the guy doesn't get it and is probably a 2 and 4 zhombie ....eeewww different spelling. Does anyone not know what it means.

Dan has good musical instincet but ....... this is from my first expierence of their live set at KEXP, then hearing the album cuts. I did not enjoy the music nearly as much, not shure who mixed it but it seemed much brighter and scratchier than their general sound on the KEXP set. I don't know the role Dan played at that session. But

who ever thought of moving the kit all over the stage and every one playing at one time or another is very smart about what is missing from most of the music of the masses. Drama, Emotion, Motion, specticle. Elton John knew it, Alice Cooper and Mr. Zappa knew it plaenty of others these days, Get a look at Lake St. Dive for another band taking performance to new musical formats. I have not been much interested in Rock for 20 years or so.

Its very nice to be a slobbering fan of a grate band again.

  25. A.... T....

That show made for such a great day.

  26. R.... B....

Awesome song, needs a bass line for more meat.

    R.... B....

+Nick Spaulding get the LP ...

    R.... B....

no thanks, i like the floor toms as they are, with added baseline there is no more room for them in the mix

  27. p.... ....

Take it from me, I know what I'm talking about. Get rid of the hipster drummer.

    p.... ....

+paddlepop77 Obviously you don't know what you're talking about. He is critical to their recording, production, arrangements. He was the first instrumentalist the ladies chose for the band. LISTEN to the record, and READ about the band, BEFORE you type next time.

  28. g.... ....

    the guitar tone is sick!!!

  29. s.... ....

in this band everyone is a drummer ..sweet

    s.... ....

what do you call someone who hangs around with a group of musicians.....?

    s.... ....

don't be a dick im a drummer, and to answer your question that would be a lead guitarist, the least talent vs the most ego

    s.... ....

@swarm69 hahaha BULL SHIT, that reeeaally differs per band man

    s.... ....

a drummer! this is a demonstration of how anyone can hit stuff with a stick and make a noise. aha nah kidding percussion is very important and drums are among the hardest instruments to learn

    s.... ....

    @Micha Huigen guitarist detected

    we love lucius.
