Loretta Lynn - There Stands The Glass Lyrics
There stands the glass fill it up to the brim
Till my troubles grow dim it's my first one today
There stands the glass that will ease all my pain
That will settle my brain till I'll be on my way
I wonder where you are tonight
I wonder if you are all right
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass that will hide all my tears
That will drown all my fear brother I'm on my way
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass fill it up to the brim
There stands the glass

Sweet Loretta - a truly great singer and songwriter. Thanks for posting this.
Back when this LP was released Loretta was singing this song in concert and her live version was incredible as well.
I didn't know she recorded this. Cool!
thanks Loretta for all the romance you give us thru the night. never missed a night at Columbus Ga .with you & Conway in December. you were the best of all.
Love this women..Grew up with her with my parents..
Earl Dormer is so right. I first heard Loretta sing this then years later I heard Webb Pierce's version. He was horrible. I have not heard my man George Strait's version. Gonna check it out. I love Loretta's version but I bet George is good too.
she sings this nice but I love George Strait singing it
What a great cover of Webb's song. Loretta was awesome in her day and still shines today. These modern day singers could sure use a lesson or two from the generation that put Country Music on the map!!!
@1958tessimay can't pick love them both
Oh Lord, if someone could wave a magic wand and make these singers from this era young again!!!
A Great Talent, from an era when you actually had to have Talent to be on top!!!
No one to equal this !!
@edormer1 there's a little nasal ...when she does some of the "there"s but, it's so PERFECTLY done. I totally agree with ya
@1958tessimay - Neither. Ted Hawkins for me.
She is super fantastic!
I'd love to hear Bill Anderson's old steel guitar player, Mike Johnson do this one...
GOOD OLE' Country song by one of the first Ladies of Countrymusic yesterday... my FAV by Loretta... steel is Awesome...
YOU BETCHA...
Loretta certainly earned her rank in Country Music! The way she delivers a song will never be duplicated and she really knocked this version of Webb's song out of the ball park! Way to go!!
A wonderful voice, a beautiful woman and one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet.
good ole' Loretta song, and one of my FAV steel guitar riffs here...
I have the LP this song is on...Ty for posting...Loves Loretta....
I always loved this old 1950's country classic by Webb Pierce. I was so excited when LORETTA LYNN recorded it and put it on her 1982 LP "I Lie."
