Loggins, Kenny - Rainbow Connection Lyrics

Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows?
And what's on the other side
Rainbows are visions
But only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we've been told
And some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong wait and see
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Who said that ev'ry wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
Look what it's done so far
What's so amazing
That keeps us star-gazing?
And what do you think we might see
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

All of us under its spell
We know that it's probably magic

Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound
That calls the young sailors
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm supposed to be
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

La la la le la la loo
La la la la le la la loo

When my children were young this was their bedtime music. Tonight I attended my granddaughters school concert and they killed this. Amazing when 45 kids voices all blend into a beautiful harmony. The tears started and I had to step out for a moment to fix my leaking eyes.

The voices calling sailors was to their death. When I Pray up God's, Promises in His Reignbows? Nobody's going to die, unless, in a ,
    'little death', as the French
considered, Climaxing with another instantanelly... God Bless how He built us to...every nerve placed so perfectly to feel the way I
    and my lover's connection
was meant to be! Let It Be, yes, Mary Ann is my name ...

  54. Jim Carey

A mistake is a mistake. No need to berate, but no need to coddle, either.

  55. Mary Carvalho

I like the revivals! I agree with you completely &I would even add that on the same album his rewrite of pooh corner is better than the first. Not only in verse, but if you go back and listen to him sing this song early in his career (which I loved), the way he sings it in later years as "return to pooh corner" far exceeds, at least in my mind, the original!!! I love that he still speaks to a wide audience. Perhaps I'll see some of you at the Saratoga Mountain Winery in August when he performs!

  56. Tommy Mattson

    This is really awesome song

  57. Rey Fong

  60. Camille Christie

ConHolio ~ Thank you for the gift of this. I had the tape but it has been missing since our last move (11 yrs ago) I'm still hoping to find it stashed in some unusual spot. ;) Makes me think of the innocence of childhood and also makes me think of my Mom. Sadly, both are gone. :'(

It made me a little sad for a few minutes, but more than that... it made me smile and remember. Thanks for that! ♥

    Blessings & Joyous Howls,
    Camille
