Loggins, Kenny - No Lookin' Back Lyrics
I'm fading out of sight
My wheels are the only sound
Runnin at the speed of a' light
'N I can't slow down now
Racin' to beat the night
No matter where I'm goin'
I guess I'll get alright
So why don't I understand
What's trippin' me up?
It oughta be a simple thing
I can't hold on
'N I can't return
'N start to live and learn
I took a one-way flight
Too high to see the ground
Now I know how long it takes
A heart to come down
Alone on the highway now
Takin' it mile by mile
I'd rather be a lonely man
Than an imprisoned child
So why do I feel the strain
That keeps trippin' me up
Will it ever be a simple thing
I can't hold on
And I can't return
Rivers will run
'N bridges will burn
I can't say just how
But there's no lookin' back now
Bridge:
When everything fades away
And there's nothing left
Then you got to keep rememberin'
I won't slow down
'N I can't return
Its time to let go
'N start to live and learn
So why don't I understand
What's trippin' me up?
Well it oughta be a simple thing
I can't hold on
'N I can't return
Rivers will run
'N bridges will burn
I can't say just how
But there's no lookin' back now
I wo't slow down
'N I can't return
As night turns to dawn
The pages will burn
I can't say just how
But there's no lookin' back now
I can't hold on
'N I can't reurn
Its time to let go
'N start to live and learn

Loggins, Kenny No Lookin' Back Comments
THINK LINK!
I love this song. NO LOOKING BACK !!!!
Sub to me, also great song. 80s the best era for music. Todays music doesnt have much passion as it used to. So sad, as so many crapy songs are being released. They just care about money.
*Came here from the Sebastian Gampl cover...*
Tell it again
Classic 80's vibe. Tim Pierce kickin' ass on guitar. I love the faster speed and energy of this version over Mikes version. Interesting that they made such different versions of the song they co-wrote.
I love Tim Pierce. Rick Springfield is my all time favorite so I’ve been fortunate enough to see Tim a few times.
Beth Chapman
McDonald's version is a thousand times better. This guy cant sing anything like Michael McDonald. Not even close and anyone saying that he can is seriously lying to themselves
Get a grip. They have both had great careers. Loggins and Messina was fantastic.
@stretch54 and the Doobie brothers. I love both of these artists. They are classics.
🇧🇷🙂
omf kenny what did you do to this song?!?!
He's a legend
Great song, but wrong album cover. Kenny's version of "No Lookin' Back" is from the Vox Humana album, not Back to Avalon.
Pure Freedom!!! Nothing can Stop me...even when i cuddle that guitar! THANKS KENNY! Highway to "a dance" Zone
It's crazy that only a one movie used this in its soundtrack. Definitely one of the best 80's pop songs.
l like 1980 music
Brilliant
Landau on guitar
It's Tim Pierce on the solos though.
Wrong album pic. From Vox Humana. Just sayin....
thelma et louise bought me here
Kenny's best tune of the 80s :-)
One of my favorite Kenny Loggins songs ever!!
A magnificent song writer who I've admired since the L&M days. I love to dance to this and listen to the magical quality of your music. I like Michael McDonald but I will always go to Kenny first.
Good, but Michael's version is better.
Really? This one seems funkier. :-)
One of my favorite Loggins songs'. I wish this style of song writing/music was popular again and on the radio.
There is a new 2015 cover of this from a new retro artist called Sebastian Gampl that is worth looking up.
Eff Yiew There are a lot of retro new wave songs which completely shit on today's music, you fucking moron.
@Walter White: retro new wave IS (part of) today's music :-P
Co19801003 your point? You know exactly what I mean
My point is that if you are so rude as to call someone a (f***ing) moron (for venting frustration and stating their personal opinion), people are allowed to at least laugh about the fact you said something silly yourself - even if it is because of something as innocent as awkward wording. If you cannot disagree respectfully with someone, you do not get to expect others to not poke a little fun at you if you offer them a reason to. Respect works two ways - and I think I was being innocent enough compared to you.
Co19801003 good job wasting my time with a bunch of unnecessary drivel, mr. snowflake, have a good day
I like the MM version better
Why is Loggins such an underrated artist!!??? His music is way better than the trashy music made by the crappy overrated artists today!!
+Anthony_Mahon_03_ agreed
He is not under rated and one of the more successful artists to have ever walk the earth! ∞ And the second is the music industry has declined and want trashy artists...easier to control! ∞
agreed------respect
Agree x 10
Kenny's version isn't that much different than McDonald's, unlike "I Gotta Try."
It's Brilliant. Kenny Loggins is such an underrated Artist, I miss that good upbeat sound getting us through the night/ day.
I agree so much music today or over the last few years has been nothing more than terrible ....
@maurizio sabatini Just find music now days boring, lacking personality. Sure, some good songs do come along but too far and few between really get my attention.
@ jsaldert: It is originally from Vox Humana, an album from the mid-1980s.
Its true McDonald's versión, is better
Manuel Guillermo Contreras Castellon This is great but i agree
Manuel Guillermo Contreras Castellon nope
I like this version than McDonald's version .
As do I! :)
Me to, i agree with you 100 percent!!!
great song
Need pic of Vox Humana album cover.
yah!! 80's!! synthesizer,clear voice,pop,active.
This is the American music which I loved.
Shut up, you don't know good music.
go to hell
Is this from the Back to Avalon-album?
From Vox Humana. :)
Co written by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. McDonald also released his version. Both are great.
You need to hear the Sebastian Gampl version mate...
@Issa Beganović I just heard it and I think it's just an enhanced Kenny Loggins version
I heartily agree
dang i didnt know this kool kat sang this song ....both versions are grande masterpieces...dats all i gotta say
tough choice, But I'd go with Mr. Michael Mcdonald's version it's deeper and soulful!
I’d go with Sebastian Gampl, if I had to choose a cover...
Michael's version has much more "soul"
Funk beats soul :-)
DESILAS38127
Try the Sebastian Gampl version mate...
I Like both Michael and Kenny. Kenny version is too fast, Michael is the best version for me.
But Sebastian Gampl captures the most essence with his version.
@hitothecamera they are equally good...mike slurs his words so u cant understand him
Loggins version has a faster tempo; which I believe, delivers the message of this song better. I would so love to leave...I don't know if I would be gone forever...but definitely for awhile.
I can imagine myself in making a one-way solo exit from a stormy past, on a cruiser bike doing 70ish on the highway.
@hitothecamera Can I second (or third) this? There's just more power in this one.
As much as I like this, I love it if someone uploaded McDonald's -still relavent- version. Especially the video that goes with it.
please somebody put on line the michael mac donald version of this song
Where's the Michael McDonald version?
Dude... WTF? What happened in the 80's should stay in the 80's! LOL ;-)
