Local Natives - Wooly Mammoth Lyrics
In the summer, vicious summer
This is nothing like I thought it would look
You say, "Who am I to blame?"
"Who am I to blame?"
Stamp me out flickering
Can you remind me which are the ones that sting?
They all look the same to me,
Look the same to me
Spill yourself at her feet
Stamp me out flickering
There's a sun rising
Steady now
Big Sur swallowed, swallowed me alive
You say, "Who am I to blame?"
"Who am I to blame?"
Spill yourself at her feet
Stamp me out flickering
There's a sun rising
Steady now
Comfort me

They lift me out of depression, often. I'm forever grateful for their impact on my life.
Same man. This band is so wonderful!
Maria Bethânia e Caetano tocando entre as duas músicas haha good choice, guys !
We love this! So good.
It's as if their voices actually fill my lungs with the breath of life.

one of my life goals is to see them in a setting like dissss
This is magical...
Porto, best city in the world. I like the sound
Too pure, too genuine :')
This version of Wooly mammoth is so much better!
you can kind of see him snap back into reality at the end of wooly mammoth
Im so excited for their next LN show for Sunlit Youth
I would do anything to join your video or audio crew!!
sounds so badass
bummed theres no like, hard hitting bass remixes, nothing crazy, just like ..BAM..bum-bumbum BAM would be nice. but nothing.
this version of Wooly Mammoth is batshit crazy.
Something about Taylor's beard just completes it
Kelcey is on one with the synth
Addressing every Comment below : Who Knows, Who Cares
Step 1: Form band

they sound SO GOOD live
wow... this a band that can play live.
Ufff! Me derrito. 💚
me also like eating Doritos
I think the keyboards are an OP-1 and a Casio SK-1
😍😍😍
better than the album
I don't know if its better... Its certainly very different, much more 'out there' for lack of a better term... But I still love it.
I still go back to this every once in a while. One of Blogotheque's best features!
Here again! :)
Edisa Villa I do the same
same, cannot forget this one.
4:55 and 4:58 "Boobie shower"
What the damn? The mix on this is impeccable. Good job guys. It's been really fun to watch the production value skyrocket since the inception of la blogoteque.
+Peter Amend Cheers man, thanks! :)
There is a making of video by a local news tv crew i believe. It was on the internet for a while. EDIT: found it here http://sicnoticias.sapo.pt/programas/cartaz/2013-06-12-la-blogotheque-grava-video-com-os-local-natives-no-porto;jsessionid=81E066515327868C0849DDEC382AEF09
+Shoefiti Hey, cool! That was fun to see.
Drummer is using a Teenage Engineering OP1 Portable Synthesizer / Sampler / Controller Keyboard
What kind of synth is the drummer playing?
this version of wooly mammoth is too damn good.. need a recorded version
It's on the iTunes session!👍🏻
so very good
Their music is so soothing c:
Those girls in the back during Wooly Mammoth want the D.
+Germain Archer Me too. I was too busy listening to the music itself and not paying attention to the girls lol.
i love this band i have all there albums and record playing disc and a local natives t shirt
7:50 Holy shit measuring tape speaker! Also super-amazing live performance O.O
Ryan I love you but you're behind on that shaker dude.
I disagree. Sounds more like a heavy swing to me. There is a difference between swing and being off beat. Its used a lot in jazz, and some hip hop. J Dilla did it a lot. Makes things sound less stiff IMO.
I'm with you donkeytron, there is a difference between heavy swing and being off beat... I think Ryan is just off beat unfortunately.
das not ryan das kelsey
Perfect
When Taylor pounds his fist on the wall, I started weeping. This is so beautiful. 3:18.
Exactly...awww
I Love this Band!!
hipster at its best
+samo samo cry me a river
I wish I could do something more than like, fav and share this video to show how much I love it!
Does anybody know the name of the Portuguese song playing at minute 4:00???
Tá combinado - Caetano Veloso
He's brazilian btw.
Thank You!
@Eduardo Gonzalez and thank you
I thought it was a well known fact that great music was usually played by bearded men :P
Is this post Andy?
Going to see them thursday for the third time in a year! They're just too good!
if you ever have a chance to see them live, take it. It'll be one of the best experiences you ever have.
I'm pretty sure it's the Teenage Engineering OP1 Portable Synthesizer. I want one now. haha
What is that drum pad Matt is playing on Ceilings?
I went to a local natives concert in Dallas, Tx and a chick told me about this performance....thank you random dallas girl
they are sooooo amazing!
I'm in love
Seconded.
I would have children with this take away show
Local Natives' performance of Wooly Mammoths is simply breathtaking. No other performance on La Blogotheque even comes close

Beauty.
This wooly mammoth version is so much better.
best city in the world, thank you local natives
what type of mic did you guys use to record this?
Fucking hell. Please play some of this at my funeral. Its near where the video was filmed.
this could not have been any more perfect than it already is ♥
Toujours aussi bon en fait ces Local Natives
The synthesizer that they are using is a vintage 1980s Casio SK-1.
This version of Wooly Mammoth is great
Quality show, quality facial hair
This version of Wooly Mammoth. Superb. Perfect. All good things.
and i love the Caetano Veloso's song between LN songs..
cheers from Brazil :)
really, where the fuck i was?!?! went all the way to porto to see them at optimus..would die to watch this take away show :(
omg i love this
I agree with Joshua
Are you talking about the band or the Blogotheque videos?
Hello. Not exactly. On this session we only have two H4 (strapped on the keyboards as noticed), two wireless lav mics and a stereo boom pole. I think it has been posted earlier about how we record stuff. Just check out "blogotheque jwsound" on google and you'll find a message board giving details about it. But we never use shotgun mics. Hope this helps.
Thanks for pointing out the Zooms- I see them now. I am still blown away by the recording and the mix.
Looks like they have Zoom H4ns on nearly everyone, so they are individually miced up, also probably used super-directional shotgun microphones. In short, lots of close microphones and a few from a distance :) All with wind filters.
How the hell did they get such a good audio recording?
The audio recorder on the keyboard; I have the same one. Thing's gnarly.
Miss how rustic they used to sound. Had hopes for this, but still sounds somewhat restrained & polished
Uhm, I'm trying to figure that out myself. It looks like a field recorder not a speaker, but I could very well be wrong. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out what he used for this. It's hard to say. There are so many similar things.
...and they blow my mind yet again. Well done Local Natives!
4:14 "[This'll] be a much better Blogotheque, I think."
Uh, yeah. Yeah, it will.
this wooly mammoth version is amazing.
It's called "ta combinado" and I think the original is by Caetano Veloso.
It's from Brazil
The drum sound is coming from the OP-1, but what is the keyboard/synth/midi controller thing that Kelcey is playing? Is that a speaker strapped on it too?
So beautiful... this question may be off topic but does anybody know where I can buy shoes like the ones Matt is wearing?
THAT was beautiful
They reach a part of my soul that nothing else could ever touch.
Lablogotheque should come to morlaix, Brittany, there are amazing buildings (similar to Paris plus old medieval) and an amazing atmosphere!!!
Oh my. Wow.
5 people have a soul shaped hole inside them.
i love
I smile everytime someone tries to speak portuguese :) Nice try!
