Lloyd Cole - My Bag Lyrics
Hey I was walking my bag
Through a 20 story non-stop snow storm
Pirrelli calendar girls wrestling in body lotion
My head's swimming with poetry and prose
Excuse me one moment whilst I powder my nose
We gave up sleep at the age of 17
My world's getting bigger as my eyesight gets worse
I can't see the lines on my idiot board
What above love?
I don't let that stuff in my house
This is the glamorous life there's no time for fooling around
Lord have mercy I know what I'm doing
I don't need an alibi I need a fire escape and an open window
It's my problem it's nothing I can't deal with
What's your bag?
Hundred million dollar jam
Got some traffic yessir in my nose
Motorcycle speed cops burning up my dust roads
My baby left me heck ain't that a shame
She's over in the corner with my new best friend
I'm doing fine with my whisky and wine
And meet me in the john, John, meet me in the john, John
Lord have mercy I know what I'm doing
I don't need an alibi I need a fire escape and an open window
It's my problem it's nothing I can't deal with
I'm not chasing anything just jogging baby
What's your bag?
Spin spin whisky and gin I suffer for my art
Bartender I got wild mushrooms growing in my yard
Fix me a quart of petrol clams on the half shell
Feels like prohibition baby give me the hard sell
More give me more give me more more more
I'm your yes man yes ma'am I'm your yes man
Lord have mercy I know what I'm doing
I don't need an alibi I need a fire escape and an open window
It's my problem it's nothing I can't deal with
I'm not chasing anything just jogging baby

From the fantastic 1987 Mainstream album. Thanks
TIMELESS 80'S ROCK MUSIC.................
This song is a Work Of Art
Jangly guuitars never sounded so good.
This songs about cocaine right?
Phenomenal song.
Like quien la escuche en 2019, canciones de nuestra época de adolescencia
Ainda ouvindo 2019
He's not Scottish originally from London. Also it took me ages to find out this about a bag of cocaine and not a travel bag
None the less ths is a classic track and the guitar jangles in all the right places.
He's from Buxton, Derbyshire originally!
Lloyd, girls are ready to be heartbroken
Fave Lloyd song bought Mainstream back in 1987.
If you think this single version is great try the 12" extended single!
Always loved this tune....it’s so odd.
Great track.
One of the best from Lloyd...timeless!
Meet me in the John (Street Jam)
TEMAZO!!
Gold times
Lloys is so great!
What about love?
I don't let that stuff in my house...
Great music, so underrared.
Super..
For me, that's like a brilliant rap inside a beautiful pop song. A smart hip hop singer would make a good number if he covered it
The BASS is sharp. Lyrical Lloyd as usual in fine form. Grossly under rated talent.
Ahhh The 80's I can't believe I made it....Excuse me one moment whilst I powder my nose.....And meet me in the john, John, meet me in the john, John......Hundred million dollar jam.....Got some traffic yessir in my nose.
Sounds that was valuable on the market no one else spoke of I suppose. New England record where Brandon never found his balloon.
God is Lloyd effin cute or what!😍😍😍
God Lloyd is soooo effin CUTE😍😍😍
2:00-2:17 IS UNBELIEVABLE!
meti muito este som
E muito bem metido. Isto é ouro puro.
Long gone Lloyd Cole - their star burned brightly in the 80s; this is a superb example of their art.
I don't need an alibi, I need a fire escape and an open window
love the first album soundtrack to my life
Brilliant, underrated song. One of those that unjustly never gets played on the radio.
Lloyd looks a bit like a young Elvis crossed with Jimmy Carr in the video IMO.
Loved it from the first stanza.
Best song ever!
The best
Underrated artist! Voice, intellectual lyrics, music! :)
30 years o yeahhhhh
Raise a nose pipe to Cocaine Baaaaby!
I think the Berlin Wall was born in 1961.
Lloyd, sigh!
So much memories.
Utterly fantastic, memories of a great time in my life, saw lloyd in Preston last month..... Fantastic what a gent xx
Eu amo Lloyd Cole, muito bom. O que aconteceu com essa banda?
It was the year of Terence Trent D'Arby, U2's Joshua Tree, Whitney debut with I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Lips Like Sugar from Echo & The Bunnymen, Cult's Electric, an year after Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer and an year before Waterboys's second album...Oh well...My sweet sixteen.
Spin, spin whiskey and gin...I suffer for my art, bartender. Lloyd is the greatest.
meet me in the jon jon coke heads lol
one of the best songs of the 1980's .....along with Balloon Man by Robyn Hitchcock and Alex Chilton by the Replacements
One of my favorite songs. I mark a time.
Takes me back to cocaine madness! MY BAG!
His last truely great album,i know theres been somme gooduns since but this was meant to be the difficult 3rd and it was excellent
Looks like John Mayer's older brother
Because when you think Lloyd Cole, you think raging coke head. lol
This song deeply speaks to me.

The absolute top of the eighties and far beyond.
YEP...this song still kicks ass
Saw him last night at Newcastle. Still wonderful!
rofel marante hai beautiful
al puro estilo Stock 101
Shame the box set doesn't include all the 12" mixes and single edits.
He's still got it too. Most consistent member of my record collection.
Good times nice girls cheers lloyd Cole
Bought 12" vinyl of this back in 1987. Promptly bought Mainstream album. Great track.
incredible songwriting, three of the best albums of that decade, if not all time
+Richard Weir it's pretty clear that today's songwriters lack the class of Lloyd Cole and Morrissey.
+Matt Gibbs omg you are so right. I include Jeff Buckley to that list
Best alternative pop-rock music of the all times
memories from the 80s- BEST decade yup 100%
Yep. Sorry kids you missed it.
