Lizz Wright - Vocalise / End Of The Line Lyrics

Oh...

This is the end of the line
I've clearly read every sign
The way you glance at me
Indifferently
And you take your hand from mine

This is the end of the line
How could I ever define, define
How helpless I've become
I feel like some discarded valentine

Remember in the beginning
Your winning ways excited me
And all the while I was certain
That we two had found a love that comes
Just to a few

But we've reached the end of the line, yeah
I hope your dreams turn out fine
I'm awfully tired and so I guess I'll go
Although its only nine

This is the end of the line
This is the end of the line
This is the end of the line

Oh...

Só a introdução dessa música já bastava se ficasse assim, com esse timbre maravilhoso nos meus ouvidos, um verdadeiro delírio. Essa negra é maravilhosa!

Her voice is like drinking a warm liquor flavored with coffee, chocolate, toffee and vanilla with a hint of cigar in the after taste on a cold night in front if a fireplace..

@stevefromPA2 Did it? I ask because she's had what...two or three other releases since then and what? Critical acclaim on NPR? Mainstream is fickle and scared to embrace true music. Art requires thought. If the Lizz's and Norah's of the world can have a comfortable living and make great art, so be it. It makes life better for us. But I definitely feel you though...

  14. s.... ....

@btinsley1 if only most of us could have a friend like CJ......

  15. s.... ....

@DJDJANGO1 Makes you wonder though...Mainstream music found a way for Norah Jones...

  16. A.... F....

  17. E.... S....

I can't say enough aout it, it truly "moves" me.
Music is a gift from The Creator...It's too beautiful and spiritual...Music truly "calms the savage beast" It's beautiful, she's beatiful.

    Music =Life (For me anyway)

  20. T.... D....

Good ole "You tube where REAL people who really appreciate REAL music can express that for the TRUE artists that get overlooked!
But It's ok because they don't need to be in the mainstream...All that does is "corrupt" them and turn them into an assembly line of fake music and images the do not truly reflect the artist.
She belongs to us,and I love that!!

THIS IS ABSOLUELY one of my favorite songs on the Album. The chords, the melody, the lyrics, ..This song is just incredible! It sends shivers down my spind! The music absolutely puts you in a trance If you let yourself just go and just "float on the melody" It's absolutely indicative of human relationships and raw emotion right down to the chords of the music!!
Rarely do songs really capture that literally, I think.

  22. G.... R....

    her best song IMO

an intelligent and absolutely beautiful friend of mine was suffering with lymph cancer in 2004 & one day i heard this song (as well as "Home") for the first time. i was unusually drawn to both songs & repeated them for most of the day while working. i could not explain why i had such an affinity for both...

my friend died the following week & i will forever believe my Creator was warning me of loss...

    i love you CJ

Totally agree. Mainstream doesn't know how to package and market an artist like Lizz. There is no fabrications in this tight of talent. Raw, pure, naturally in every sense. She is an amazing talent.

Some artists simply 'cover' a standard. Lizz made this song HERS.

    Incredible.

Lizz Wright is one of the few real Jazz singers today who's sinfully overlooked by the mainstream music business.

Here she brings her uniquely haunting vocals & arrangement to this Jazz standard. Moving.....Lizz Wright is the Truth!

  26. n.... z....

I first heard this song on the radio while driving from work. This song with the smell and sights of an evening in fall is hypnotic. I had to find her.

love this song! so sad :( thanks for posting! :D Just a correction for yur lyrics at verse/section 3 the lines are "that we too had found a love that comes, just to a few, (but)" I was confused so checked the original nina simone lyrics and that's what i found. ^^; I know a lot of internet lyrics for the lizz wright version show different, but ... *shrug* she's covering the nina simone song... I love Lizz wright's versioN!!! ^^
