Liz Phair - Crater Lake Lyrics

Once you've left a lonely rage on its own, it grows.
And dynamite stuffed in a mailbox doesn't smoke until it blows...

And oh, all the tears
In four tiny years
Well look at me, I'm frightening my friends...
You better roll me...

I bought a map of the moon.
There's a crater with my name on it and a really good view
There I was, getting drunk in your room
Because I wanted to throw my weight around

And oh, all the tears
In four tiny years
Oh look at me, I'm frightening my friends...
You better roll me home [x3]

    We're like peas and broccoli

I read that she had terrible stage fright live performing

I don't think she sold out, but her music changed over time.  I prefer her older stuff, and I've always thought a lot of her unreleased stuff was great, but that's just my opinion.  Crater lake has always been one of my favorites.

The 'Liz sold out' schtick is getting old, and boring.

    She did not sell out.

She made music. Yeah, the new stuff was different.

How many groundbreaking albums do you expect out of one artist?

We got Girlysounds and Guyville out of Liz, and that was good enough for me.

As far as I am concerned, the rest of her output is just gravy.

    Tasty, tasty gravy.

Great song, thanks for posting. All my favorite subjects: maps, Oregon, getting drunk.
