Living Colour - Funny Vibe Lyrics
No, I'm not gonna rob you
No, I'm not gonna beat you
No, I'm not gonna rape you
So why you want to give me that
Funny Vibe!
No, I'm not gonna hurt you
No, I'm not gonna harm you
And I try not to hate you
So why you want to give me that
Funny Vibe!

Living Colour Funny Vibe Comments
That breakdown is intense, Living Colour is so awesome.
Remember watching this on BET Video Vibrations show.
Fucking masterpiece.
Hating on someone just because of their race is retarded
Guitar Solo = Guitar Solo. Fantástico
was this a b-side on a single?
It was on the album Vivid. Track no. 6
Muzz making that bass walk and talk.
I fking love this band, I love this cut, i love the word, i love the guitar solo, godlike from the hands of Hendricks, so why am I crying?
I'm a white American and I get plenty funny vibes. Cuz of my tattoos, demeanor and shaved head. I've chiseled features. So yeah...profiling.
now imagine you're not white.
@absurdistsloth Gross. No way!
"and I'll try not to hate you!"
Wow, I’m surprised that the two guys from Public Enemy (Chuck D and Flavor Flav) weren’t seen in this video.
Y ni te cuento en Argentina...
Man, I haven't heard this since 1989. I used to listen to this album all the time that year. Great uploads.
Living Colour rules!
xoxo The Clarences
These guys were so ahead of their time
Checking in 2017.... nothing has changed.
you still havent changed?
total BS for a great band .. love the artist , not the words. Im getting the funny vibe myself..
Swamp Diggin Clearly some people don't get it.
oops, sorry I commented on the wrong song. I really find a lot of truth in Funny Vibe. Living Colour is honest integrity in everything they do.
Elvis is Dead by Living Colour makes me laugh hysterically everytime I hear it. Never gets old.
the angriest band that makes me want to dance!
this is total bullshit. Music is insane though.
Fuck the message its all about the lead guitar intro and outro. Wish this would have been a different song with the intro all the way through cause it jams so hard and unfortunately falls off too quick.
Not One Why "fuck the message"?
Because the music supersedes the stupid racial message thats why! The lyrics are just a rant stating some woe is me bullshit!! Black people need to quit worrying/hating us whites and quit killing their own race in gang violence!!! They aren’t and weren’t back in the day when this song was written hated on by other races !!! They just want people to feel sorry for them and give them handouts like food stamps and free Obama phones!!! What they need is a JOB!! And stay out of the gangs!!! The black man gets more love or attention in our society bar none in these times!!!All over t.v. , music videos, and given the first seat choice in life for everything! White privilege... I think NOT!! More like Black privilege ! And thats unfortunately how it is for the moment!!! But EVERYTHING fades off sooner than later! Fuck the message..
@Not One thank you for making it clear
Totally agree with you... When they change from rock to Funk, it's so disappointing, because the intro is so awesome!!
P.E. & L.C. Are In Full Effect Boyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
From beginning to end, the vocals send a strong message. And instrumentally it's so tight with the bass and drums
Say no to racism!
And hate everyone equally
Living Colour was a little too real for those days. I'll bet they are still too real for today.
+Kanchome They Are.
Too real for today? Uh... this narrative is all over the media today.... and, frankly, its tame by today's standards. Now, it being necessary? Maybe in the age of the 80's comparatively limited mass media. That's another subject.
This album kicks butt;-)
I got the cd so I'm waiting for Memories Can't Wait to come blasting through. Bro I get that funny vibe on a regular basis.
Amerikkka the Ugly!!!
i guess you didnt learn shit from the song
Still relevant to this day...
Your on CRACK!!! Ain’t relevant today or when this song came out!!!Black people need to quit worrying/hating us whites and quit killing their own race in gang violence!!!
Not One You watched one too many anti-feminist propaganda videos on YouTube. I will admit that feminism is merely a watered down and shitty form of humanitarianism, but like your interpretation of society, it is attention seeking majorities pushing fictional problems at low-middle-class street level people. But you seem to have the impression that it's all blacks running the country. Dead wrong. Black people and/or other minorities don't even get paid what a white man is paid for working the same job. Mexicans work what white people used to do because it paid well. Now it doesn't pay shit. Music videos/television can't represent shit. Television is entirely controlled by corporations. Blacks don't get the first seat choice in life for anything. That Ministry profile picture and everything it stands for has been raped by you, your ignorance, and your greed. Jourgensen would be disappointed.
Living Colour I was just gonna say. Smh Shame
@Mangy 2 Fly "Black people and/or other minorities don't even get paid what a white man is paid for working the same job."
You're completely delusional.
I don't think I ever saw this on MTV back in the day.....Or even now.............
2:31 - 2:50 PURE SIZZLE!
Never mind, just found it (on LivingColourVEVO channel) :D
Great music. "Vivid" was the first rock album I ever bought and it is still indelibly imprinted on my brain to this day. I have to ask though: the video that MuchMusic in Canada played back in the day was quite different from this version, with a rap during the verses and a funky section before the solo. I've been looking on YouTube for it for years with no luck. Do you (or anyone else) know the version I'm talking about and if it's available anywhere?
eles vao tocar no rock in rio sexta-feira
This song kills! Especially live!
