Little River Band - Face In The Crowd Lyrics
Is this the night I finally will see you?
Is this the time I've waited for so long?
Night after night I play this show without you
Can't help but think about you in every song
And soon the lights will dim out in the hall
I check the mirror, at the side of the stage I'm waiting
Ready to meet the one I want most of all
[Chorus:]
I see your face in the crowd and I am crazy for you
You see me crying out loud
Millions of faces, a sea before me,
I can see only you are the face in the crowd
A crowd of one, though there's 20.000 more
We are alone in the midst of all this madness
Will you be there when I walk out the backstage door?
[Chorus]
Before I know it the show's at its conclusion
I close my eyes on this visual love affair
And as I leave the theatre crowds are waiting
I turn to sign the last book and you are there
[Chorus]

Little River Band Face In The Crowd Comments
this was originally recorded for the No Reins album before being re-recorded for their 1988 follow-up "Monsoon" with live audience overdubs and Glenn Shorrock on vocals (replacing his own replacement John Farnham who left to release his solo album "Whispering Jack").
Great song - one of LRB's best!
My dad sang this so my mom on a concert.... Now they're seperated... Miss You dad! =(
This was off a great album that should have gone a lot farther than it did . This was cut during the John Farhnam era when Shorrock thought he was special and could do better on his own . Farhnam could sing , saw him live with LRB during this time. One of the best live shows I have ever seen .
Hi. Actually Shorrock didn’t think he could do better - he was actually sacked by the band and they asked Farnsey to replace him. I love Farnsey - I’ve seen him 8 times. My favourite artist. However, for me anyway, LRB will always be Glenn Shorrock.
Impreesive !
I discovered this song on their extended Greatest Hits CD. I loved it right off, and I don't understand why it wasn't a bigger hit. It's awesome!
one of their best IMO. vastly underrated band.
Who's doing the lead vocals here? Beeb or Graham???
probably Wayne Nelson
Graeham Goble. He wrote it and sang it.
cinnamonjh it's not Graeham Goble. It's Wayne Nelson.
I would agree , sounds like Wayne ...

I don't know how I missed this song back in the day -- it's been on their Greatest Hits album for years but I never heard it. Fine, fine song.
Great late tune by this gem of a band, excellent vocals and melding with each other on every chord, I love you guys and always will...Long live LRB!!
