Little Big Town - Boondocks Lyrics
[Chorus:]
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul
In the boondocks
I can feel that
Muddy water runnin' through my veins
I can hear that
lullaby of the midnight train
And it sings to me and sounds familiar
I can taste that honeysuckle
And it's still so sweet
When it grows wild
On the banks down at old Camp Creek
And it calls to me like a warm wind blowin'
[Chorus]
It's where I learned about livin'
Its where I learned about love
Its where I learned about working hard,
And having a little was just enough
It's where I learned about Jesus
And knowin' where I stand
You can take it or leave it
This is me
This is who I am
Give me a tin roof, a front porch, and a gravel road
And thats home to me, feels like home to me
[Chorus]
You get a line I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin' in the crawfish hole
Five card poker on Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning

You should not have said that
This is what country should sound like.
Boondocks is derived from the Tagalog word Bundok, which means mountain. If you’re from the bundok, you’re basically a hillbilly. The US soldiers brought the term back to the states.
You don’t care? I don’t care that you don’t care you ignorant bastard.

Love this song. Takes me way back. I remember the honeysuckle, going down by the creek, picking strawberries, gravel roads, catching lightening bugs, tire swings, etc..I really miss it.
I feel no shame im proud of from where i came
I can relate to this song. I lived in the country. Great childhood with loving parents and amazing siblings. I was the youngest of six.

Raised in the Boondocks of SE Utah and loved every minute of it,......makes me wanna return to that small "one horse" town and feel the country vibe! :)
Hey man
I came to this song after watching episode of song writers.
I'm. from Bardwell ky and this song fits home perfectly.
Straight outta WV!!!!
Most annoying white people music there is.
I’m from a small town called Brooklyn in Mississippi population 876 all we got is a high school a grammar school a doctors office and a couple of little shops that high schools happens to be the only agricultural high school in Mississippi and we therefore obviously have the FFA well me and my conduct of chapter team went to nationals in Indianapolis and we were talking to New Yorkers and y’all know southern folks can’t hear their accent well these New Yorkers certainly could for one they couldn’t half understand us but when we finally got where they could they would crack up at how we said and then somehow we got on the topic of favorite foods and they were saying crap like dead snails and fish fetuses well I said grits and they said whaaaaat.....?????!!!!! Then we got into like a three hour conversation about what grits were and why they looked like baby throw up 😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I live in the boondocks 😀😀😀
This song is 15 years old, already! Where does the time go! Great song, always!
I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THE BOONDOCKS
Dang Karen and Kimberly are so good looking
Thanku n i really luv this song bcuz its totally me. I actually sang this with some kids at nursing homes. N my granny n i sang this together bfore she passed long ago. God bless us.🗽😇😁😘⛪🐴😇
This song makes me think of my church I grew up going to as a child 😇✝️❤️
This is my 2 favorite country song
I love this song even though I grew up in the suburbs
Hard to believe this song is 10 years old. One of the best "new songs" in a very, VERY long time.
Only in country music can three rebels (Jimmy, Phil, and Kimberly) and a Yankee (Karen) come together, and create a great quartet.
never gets old ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love this song
When I was a kid, the boondocks were the suburbs, we still had all of the magic in this song....brings me back.
im from the north but secretly from the south. shhhhh dont tell anyone
