Linkin Park - Blue (1998 Unreleased Hybrid Theory Demo) Lyrics
In the dark days
I'll part ways
With the blame.
Trying to maintain
But it's still all the same
Hear my name in the rain
And the pain,
I wear my face with a tear stain
You feign fondness, honestly it's time
To give you a piece of my mind
And show you that you're blind.
And in the design
Of the world I call mine
Know that you can't stand on both sides
Everything is my fault
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
The problems have two faces
Everything is my fault
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
The problems have two faces
Pass all the blame over to me
It will come eventually
Take the time out to examine
All these questions honestly
With my eyes shut
I'm seeing the truth in your words
The absurd
Slurred into beauty to be heard
You swim through deceit
The lies that you tell
The stories you sell
Knowing you well
I keep distance
And every instance
You keep your thoughts concealed
What I feel
Just another spoke in the wheel
All or nothing
Thrown down and trampled by your heel
And eaten away
By my own version of the real
Everything is my fault
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
The problems have two faces
Everything is my fault
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
The problems have two faces
Pass all the blame over to me
It will come eventually
Take the time out to examine
All these questions honestly
You're always to blame?
Nothing, thrown down
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
Trampled by your heel
(Play the game and wear the tear stain)
Eaten by my own
(Pass the pain, 'cause you'll feel it if you don't)
Version of the real
(Stop counting 'til you've got your own)
Nothing, thrown down
(It's all the same, just pass me the blame)
Trampled by your heel
(Play the game and wear the tear stain)
Eaten by my own
(Pass the pain, 'cause you'll feel it if you don't)
Version of the real
(Stop counting 'til you've got your own)

Sounds like an early version of Forgotten, Runaway and Crawling all in one. GENIUS... HOPE THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY IS TREATING YA WELL CHESTER WE ALL MISS YA DOWN HERE
I can’t wait for Red and Green.
Why this track such unknown - it's real hit.
SORT OF reminds me of "Nobody Loves Me" by Limp Bizkit. But only the background part. Well done Linkin Park, once again you out-do my perception of music. Love you for life, no matter what has happened <3
I know I put this 5000 years later xD, but in the final part, in kind where Chester sings "version of the real"
The whispering part is Mike saying "I'll scar dead and get your mind, and get your brain"
I know it was too late, but I wanted to comment on this anyway.
Very good lyric video.
And I'm sorry for my bad English ^^
Listen to the song on this order:
Beggining till end of chorus,2:48,after the end of the first verse 1:25,then repeat this one time but switch 1:24 with 2:30 and listen to the rest
They should put all demos on a new CD for all of us to hear
You mean like the Underground CDs?
I feeling a hint of Green Day for some reason
How can you feel a hint of gd with this song? To start, both bands produce different styles of rock, one is alternative and the other is Indy, so what's your point about?
Ooooffff I haven't heard this in years 😍😍😍😍😭😭😭
90k views where are all the soilders
I hear Crawling and Given Up in here owo
I love this song
This is why Linkin Park shoud've done a song in the 90's. They sound so 90's in this song, plus, they have a ton of songs before Hybrid Theory that were 90's like and were great.
This was made in the 90s
Everything wasn't your fault Chester may you rest in peace🙏
MEDIC infantry 💔
Este es Chester o ese vocalista?
Beginning sounds like stick n move
Limpin Bizpark - Blue
Linkvana - Blue
@Keanu Reeves agreed with that
I guess this was the Forgotten demo... Get it?
I dont care if this was a demo they should have released this. Sadly its too late to remake it
Mike's always spitting fire🔥
The ending escalated quickly
With You, By Myself, and Crawling merged together
Some very obvious Forgotten in there as well
And Runaway’s beginning
The last part sounds so much like crawling. The syllables of both songs are the same.
the problems have two faces...
I LoVe YoU CheSter 😢💖
guitar part in the verse is so lit
It sounds like a fusion of Korn, Suede, and Nirvana; an amalgamation of 90's alt-rock. I love it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwf3K1_iYxo --Niall Horan Live at IHeart Radio Village
This kinda sounds a bit like Korn but like it regardless.
fucking crawling man
Everythin eatin of my one versione of the Real...facts
It's released in 2000 in album LP Underground
Everyone's talking about how the bridge sounds like crawling but did no one notice the very beginning sounding like the beginning of runaway??
R.I.P. Chester.🙏🙏🙏🙏
It's Chester or mark!!! Cause those high notes in ending killing me
Prince T MATHEW Chester
Rip Chester.....🙏🙏🙏🙏 you are in a better place.
Miss you
The chorus sounds so 90s i love it, and the guitar riff sounds like Nirvana.
That grungy hip-hop vibe goes hard doesn't it. It's my favorite aspect of Linkin Park.
Hey mine too
It is a 90s demo.
I feel like Chester actually sounds like Kurt on this recording. This song is very Nirvana like
reminds me of marcy playground
RIP chester we all love u
So, a shitty version of crawling huh
I think it's better then crawling.
Ace Dragon The ending was the only part that was crappy
Why is this not released!?!
That final bridge is where it's at
RIP HERO
RIP LINKIN PARK
RIP Chester
RIP LINKIN PARK
For some reason the chorus reminds me of Chevelle...
Yeah I've been listening a lot to both, LP I know since my childhood but I found Chevelle recently and they're also awesome af
I found Chevelle roughly a year ago so I'm still a lot newer to their music than LP's music. Both bands are pretty amazing. :>
Interesting and iv'e been Chevelle fan for a long time now. I could probably see some Chevelle aspects in some of LP's music but they never mentioned them being an influence in their music. Try listening to Pritty Birdy(Somewhere I Belong) demo and the style of the riffs of that song will definitely remind you of Chevelle's I Get It or The Clincher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eibL0oZNh4
the riff at 2:33 sounds very similar to chevelles send the pain below at 2:38 , even the same seconds fit, i think its good they took that riff and put it in a nice metal like part of the song
Well now we just have his music to remind us of his amazing talents. Hope all is well up there.
TRUE LINKIN PARK!!!
so who wrote this one? chester? mike? or mark? cause honestly i'm confused on when Mark left and Chester joined and what changed. can someone clear it up for me?
Probably Mike and Mark together, since Mike has written most of their songs at least since after Mark left (I don't know for sure about how much Mark wrote), but Mark shares the credit for the final Crawling, so he definitely at least helped write the ending of Blue. However, it was re-written into Crawling by Mike and Chester together. Chester mostly got the credit with Crawling being "his song", so as far as I understand, Mike wrote almost everything else on Hybrid Theory. Mark Wakefield only also shares credit on Runaway, and The Dust Brothers on With You.
When Chester joined the band, at first he just sang the parts that Mark used to sing. Hybrid Theory is a mix of songs from before and after Chester joined the band, but at least A Place for My Head changed lyrics after Chester joined the band, so it's likely he was a part of that re-writing process, but his actual songwriting part seems to have been small -- not just back then, but through their whole carreer. Even songs that are sung by only Chester - for example Breaking the Habit, New Divide, and Final Masquerade - were written by Mike. Chester seems to mostly only do last-minute in-the-studio changes to lyrics. He said in an interview that it's really Mike's and Brad's band and he sings what they tell him to sing. He's certainly downplaying his role there, but probably not by much. Mike and Brad are known to be the band's primary songwriters, and only Mike when it comes to lyrics.
But things may have been different in the early days with Mark Wakefield. We can't know for sure.
I don't agree at all. Watch making minutes to midnight. I reeded a lot of old interviews. Most lyrics was writen by Mike and Chester. They mentioned that a lot. In two last albums Brad wrote to.
@Sandtrooper probably they were different and both writing in Xero days but Chester while songwriting less overall as it is Mike led, the band, I'm pretty sure he did the lyrics changes too. I'm not trying to downplay the argument, but Chester was in Grey Daze before Xero existed. He knew his lyrics. But this definitely was part Wakefield as he is credited on Crawling, but this demo w/Chester. I wonder how Mark is doing, no one is asking about him -_-
Holy shit that high note in the Outro broke sound barriers
It's not that high. Kinda high, but no challenge at all for a tenor. The notes in the chorus of Mark the Graves are way higher.
This is quite an interesting demo compared to the ones I've come across so far. Blue sounds relatively softer and more sorrowful, even compared to songs like Crawling and Pushing Me Away; it actually kinda reminded me of Green Day for some reason. A couple other people in the comments section even pointed out that they thought it sounded like Nirvana (or something), and I can see why. The lyrics appear refer to what it's like to constantly be labeled as a scapegoat. Judging by the chorus, Blue must've been split into Forgotten, Crawling, and Pushing Me Away. It's possible that Linkin Park decided scrap this since they didn't want to copy what Nirvana was doing, but thought certain aspects of the demo could still be useable. So, they salvaged their favorite bits and pieces of Blue and reused them later on.
I thought it sounded like Green Day because of Holiday though
this song is awesome
Ora le strofe rap le tirano in ballo solo a momenti
I think this song just caught me at the worst (or best) time possible, but it just, for some reason, perfectly speaks to me right now.
vary 90's
This must be the only song where Chester's voice isn't horrible and annoying. He sounds kinda good in this one.
+Tommy Oliver doesn't make sense to me😂
Yo dude you need to check yourself because when is Chester's voice ever bad that how I know you don't know true talent when it hit you. Before commenting check your self.
daphne munroe if he is a manager his band aldready failed day you don t like them but wtf Hybrid theory is the proofs of his talent or meteora i like head him sing
HOW DARE YOU INSULT CHESTER?
@Nipple Otter
First of all, what kind of username is that?? And second, why are you here if you don’t like LP’s music?! Chester’s voice is amaaaazing!! 🤘
2:48 cRAWLING IN MYYY SKINN
They said they took that part of the song and turned it into the chorus for Crawling
Si se aparece
I like this version better in all honesty. Think it should have been the final cut. Then again I also like The Doctor by Pink Floyd better than Comfortably Numb.
@linkin krap
This question concerns you username... are you calling Linkin Park crap? Or am I just paranoid?? :l
Beautiful songs of Linkin Park
1:20..."with thoughts of failure sinking in"...?
2:30..."now you got me caught in the act, you bring the thought back..."...?
2:58..."these wounds they will not heal"...?
+tdark987 uhh dude the lyrics in this vid are 100 percent right
+nightmare gamer I wasn't correcting the lyrics, just trying to imply what the song sounded similar to at those points.
+tdark987 You are right I never noticed that
+tdark987 oh OK but you probably should have said
tdark987 see they had there hybrid theory right in this song.
is it just me or did that ending bridge sound a lot like Crawling?
+Deklan Owen actually the Crawling was based around the bridge's melody. They built a chorus on it and well, you know the rest.
i always thought it was a demo of Crawling
Not even close wrong Melody
It does
I don't know what is the demo's song between Forgotten or Crawling, but because if Forhotten having it's demo, Rhinestone, in Xero times, I bet it's Crawling's demo.
@Nick R I'm not their manager to tell them which song they should perform... and just btw they decide which songs to put in the setlist OMG
@Trinity Lopez
😂😂oh lord
The start reminded me of With You for some reason
Well, one song has more than just one demo for it, it's not too unlikely that they took several parts of this demo and put them into different songs
How I think Hybrid Theory should've been
1. With You
2. Papercut
3. Runaway
4. Slip
5. Point of Authority
6. My December
7. Blue
8. Crawling
9. By Myself
10. So Far Away
11. Forgotten
12. In The End
Everything else would be bonus tracks
This is probobly where crawling came from.
+Michael T. S. that was what i was refering to
+Assassindudeman its probably where your mom came from
+nightmare gamer oooo nice come back
@Nick R you do realize I was making fun if that comeback right
@abyss knight ahhaahhaha
The chorus sucks here the rap was good
@Sethuna GET WET!
Oh man no, not that. YOU KILLED ME!
@Sethuna LOL wow. Roasted/extinguished! Literally/not literally.
Assassindudeman The bridge is incredible
Xx UmaruDoma xX fuck you
