One of the best voices ever, I can't believe I have been enjoying her music for 5 decades! She is in my soul and in the soundtrack of my life. It breaks my heart that she has lost her ability to sing and I pray she truly knows how much she has given us! Thank you Linda, for the way you have enriched my life.

At the tender age of 70, this has always been a personal song. I have been sharing a lot of the music of this era with my 40 year old daughter going through some of the same.

I love her and this is one of my all time fav songs. Another artist to look for is Lou Beatty Jr. It was never published as a record but he did it for an Episode of ER and you can cath it on YouTube. Worth the listen.

I NEVER saw a single episode but I know he did a few episodes of that show. He was also on the season finale of Kiefer sutherland show designated survivor. Parkinson's has not stopped him from acting. Why did it stop Linda from singing

I have pulled up so many songs from Linda on utube but yet I STILL probably have not heard half of her catalog. I can honestly say that she is too talented to have just ONE best or finest record. She is too talented to have a certain few finest records. ANYTHING that has EVER came out of her mouth and ANYTHING that she has EVER put on a record is EQUALLY her finest. And I do not even own a single piece of music from her in my CD collection

Linda is the prime voice in a house full of great voices. The family did group sings on some weekends. The family pretty much was able to give Linny a driven ride. She is the personification of small town girl making it big. To see what her illness is doing to the whole family has done is choking. Her sister and her little brother both in 2016. It's down to Linda and big brother Peter who proves voices don't make a career. He was chief of police back when cops were cops and not politicians. The whole family has been so incredibly faithful it is painful to see them disappear. I don't see the next generation being driven. Not like Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ronstadt's children.
God bless them all in all of their travels.

Great adaptation of the Great Jamaican Jimmy Cliff OD song written in 1969 may his songs live forever! It's about the trials and tribulations of the African descendants who were brought to the West Indies and though free physically were still very much economically, psychologically and spiritually bonded in a foreign land far away from their homeland.

Which is why I don't believe her when she sings this song. Can't picture her in this situation.

It has to feel real. That's what make a song great. I'm a big fan of Linda's but she's not convincing on this one. She does a lot of covers and most of them are very good.

This is one of my favorite songs (along with Someone to Lay down Beside Me) by one of the most gifted and talented singers EVER!  Such a haunting and lonely voice.  You can feel the passion she had for her music.

I got this album as a Christmas present in 1977 and have been listening ever since! Linda u ROCK!

I think that she really captures the emotion that Jimmy Cliff' conveyed in his original version.

Ronstadt kills this song but the arrangement and backup vocals can't keep up with her singing it from the heart.

Prisoner In Disguise is one of my all-time favorite albums. It's one of the few that I have copies of on vinyl, cassette, and CD. It's what I consider to be one of those "perfect" albums...there is not a single track on there that I don't absolutely adore...
