I see the scene where the fabled Veronica wipes the bloody face of the pulverized Jesus on the Via Dolorosa. His expression back to her says volumes (about the cruelty of men; about the miracle of mercy; about the goodness in that Good Friday). It broke me up again..Doug

Perhaps in acknowledgement that God's ways are far wiser than our human ways? I agree with you that we should aim to have God's ways as ours...but in the end we still only have human reasoning. The Lord knows all and thus always knows better...especially when it comes to things like times of pain we would think it better to avoid, but God knows we will benefit from going through them.
