I love this song, honestly, because there's a contrast where you think everything's done, and then Percy finds out Luke is the one that stole the bolt, and it all just picks up again and you're like, "Oh, shoot, it's just the beginning". Perfect

Ah... I can relate so much to Luke tho

When I started reading the books, and when I reached the Oracle’s Prophecy in TLT, I pretty much figured out who the lightning thief was. It said, *”Betrayed by a friend”*. So, my mind went to Luke automatically. Not Annabeth or Grover. *LUKE*. And the word “betrayed” pretty much summed it up.

*STILL I FINISHED THE WHOLE BOOK, IT WAS TOO CATCHY TO PUT DOWN!*

This reminds me so much of the tune ups in Rent

When Luke first meets Percy, his first words to him are, "tough first day?" And now in this song, their last interaction, his words are "tough last day?"

I swear this series is determined to follow me everywhere. I read the books, I loved them, they've gotten me through some hard days. I got into musicals, suddenly there's a PJO musical. Where we going now, boys? If I get into animation will there suddenly be an anime?

before luke comes in you can hear his vocals like become louder in the chorus “last day of summer...” and i was just like oh god get ready for luke

okay but this also reminds me of something nico would sing at the end of the second series. "last day of summer" is something he'd sing trying to decide if he should stay or not.

Lowkey, if I was a demigod, I'd probably join Luke. I know he's the supposed antagonist, but I honestly feel for him. He has been there since he was 14, and somewhere in between he became the head counselor to not only his siblings, but all of the unclaimed/the children of minor gods. He had one chance to prove himself, and yet someone else had already done it. He felt like he has been used again and again. And he has.
We know for a fact that Percy felt/feels the same. Percy has been used again and again for almost 6 years. He's been in the deepest part. But he has survived.
Luke could have been one of the greats( in my eyes he's one of the greats) Luke had so much potential, but because of his mom's insanity, and because of the the gods neglecting their children, Luke was manipulated. Kronos manipulated Luke, Selina, Ethan, and all of the other demigods.
All Luke wanted was to have a family. He wanted to be wanted.
(Sorry for my rant, I could've done an essay on him, but I need to read fanfics)

When I read the books at the part where look betrays Percy I was always just kinda mad at Luke for the rest of the series but with this song and the fact that I’m older I can’t help but just empathize with Luke and appreciate how deep of a character he actually is.
