They were good enough, but we will never know because of the media. Why now theres any band like "the beatles" or "queen" that could fill stadiums, sound on radio and have anthems that the mayority could sing them ? now there is completly freedom to hear what you want to, so you dont appreciate the music you hear nowadays. I knowits not wrong, but there's never gonna be huge artist again.

Kind of funny to watch considering they both came from comfortable middle class homes and portrayed themselves here as having working class roots.

@Nestor Pigrounet - so did Damon Albarn. There's a Britpop documentary called Live Forever where somebody calls him out on affecting a working class persona when he came from the suburbs in comparison to Oasis who were authentic to their background.

@Nestor Pigrounet - yes, no denying that. It's funny though how people choose to portray themselves and want the public to think of them in a certain way. Even the so called indie bands manufacture themselves in that respect.

I think that can be true but maybe they didn't identify themselves with the values of the so called middle class - as far as I'm concerned they do not look like the 'average James' when it comes to values and their social behavior

For me the video has its value because it kinda tries to show that innocent friendship we all used to have before coming into adulthood, when you're already been screwed so many times that you'll never truly have a full commitment friendship or any other kind of relationship because you're constantly in fear of being fucked again.

@omelettedufromage i can think of FEW places in america more depressing than this. For one you don't have any gray soviet style tower blocks in america. Don't have a lot of gray rainy weather either, except for maybe Ohio. Living in a place like this just looks soul crushing

I lived in those tower blocks where it was filmed 84 to 90 and it was actually all right back the lived right smack on top of Southmere Lake, the only bad thing about the place back then was you couldn't leave a car anywhere lol. Nowadays it's as you've said it's a dark dank place I wouldn't go there.

In South America in ganeral they're WAY too underrated. Here in Brazil almost nobody listen to them aswel... I do reckon they're really huge in Europe, especially Great Britain, but around here they're really not.
