Lewis, Jerry Lee - Honky Tonk Women Lyrics

I met a gin soaked, bar-room queen down in Memphis,
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder
'Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind.

It's just the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.
It's just the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

I laid a divorce in Detroit City,
I had to put up some kind of a fight.
The lady then she covered me with roses,
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind.

It's just the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

It's the honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

It's the honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

Lewis, Jerry Lee Honky Tonk Women Comments

Gosh...so long ago...the best thing to happen to Jerry Lee was his great grandson, Kid Rock...never took his eye off of him. Abba Agnethea appeared briefly in the chorus as Sheryl Crow who would hire a lookalike to carry on and promote Sheryl Crow music. Jerry Lee was old school yet he condescended to Brenda Lee/Sheryl/and a 100 musical composers/first female singers...and when Sheryl no 1 created Tori Amos skeleton fingers can be seen on Tori's fingers...thought to be that of Jerry Lee. Oh kay...his son took over as Jerry Lee but the first Jerry Lee was one of Jehovah's witnesses and professed to be of the anointed...the 144000 that the Bible said would rule over mankind in the future...Jerry left packing Bibles for the Watchtower when he saw a corruption that included taking over copyrights, right? Who is the sinner?

Kid Rock does a good job of fitting in as this rendition's style is all The Killer's. Great version.

Hippy term went out in the 70s, I guess because the Kid has long hair he should be discriminated against...Not...He did some great work with Jerry Lee, he was honored to do so....
